Under this ideology, people who are suffering must have done something wrong. So if a kid dies of measles, it's their own fault; they were not healthy to begin with, because they did not eat the right foods, do enough exercise, etc.

Under Lysenkoism, science became pseudoscience because it had to conform to political ideology. The pseudoscience of RFKism conforms to a strange kind of meritocracy that is used to justify oppression and exploitation.

You are correct about the terminology. Clinicians tend to think of differences as deficits. Many folks who are said to have attention deficit do not have a deficit. Rather, they have trouble directing their attention in the way society expects them to.

That is a huge topic. One thing I would look at is the causes of the decline in small grocery stores. Another is the ag subsidies that encourage the production of the ingredients for ultraprocessed foods. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...
