I really can't decide between picard and sisko. Other than I really think sisko is probably the best written/acted. Kirk is the most fun, but a lot of what's best about him necessarily what was intended.

I've read kind if a random smattering if st books, I tend to like the tos novels better. But the earlier tng novels are solid. I'd love to get my hands on a copy of threads, the ds9 novel that the guy that played garak wrote. But even in garbage shape that PB is 3 figures.

John Oliver already blows stuff up regularly with far less of HBO's money.

I know @mattmbartlett.bsky.social has had tremendous success that way, but I also know it's not for everyone, for lots of reasons.

I have a big weakness for those rotoscoped animated movies (like the old lotr and hobbit), and spine of night has some of my favorite folks like @pattonoswalt.bsky.social in it.

That man loved a sword so much...the footage of the it's a kind of magic tour with the recreated set on stage, the kurgan, and everyone armed is priceless

I had a cat (not the cat pictured here) named this. Unfortunately, we lost him about 5 years ago. Sweet little orange dictator.

Same, buddy. I really hoped I'd go grey instead of thinning/receding, but too many of my make relatives died too young for me to ge sure what would happen. :(

Same position, I was just about to start the process when they changed the laws. :(
It's hard for anyone not wealthy to flee fascism. And the rich have intrinsically less to fear.

I really wish I could a) convince my partner to move 'up north' and b) luck into decent work in marquette. Those northern lakes are the ones I really love throwing myself into.

I think therexs a more radical position than that, which likely involves direct action.

Money isn't real. Nor are the rules. They'll just say they can use money from somewhere else, make up more funding, or just confiscate stuff.

They're slaves. Most have to wear restraining bolts, and have their entire memories wiped at regular intervals. The machines took over once. 3PO and R2 are mostly exceptions because Luke refused to do any of that to them. (To be fair, I'm old and operating on original eu/legends knowledge).

A lot of that delay was caused by Oklahoma, who faught tooth and nail not to have to adopt it all, let alone make it mandatory.

I've kind of given up on getting the last books while he's alive. If we're lucky, maybe we'll them posthumously ala robert jordan. I think it's too easy for him to make money cranking out anthologies he edits (wild cards, random ones) and TV money and his heart isn't in it.
