Incidentally (bc I'm thinking abt how Trump is badly losing political battle over his CA invasion even as 9th gave him legal sanction): I think deployment has made ICE goons more visible, nationally. The ICE goons are the ones doing spectacularly awful stuff, but think many may associate w/Guard.

Gonna level with you bro I think DHS needs to be dissolved after this. Regardless of what national security functions fall under its remit, it's clearly institutionally constructed in such a way allows it to be used as an unaccountable tool of executive power. Can't reform your way out of that.

On June 15, 1215, at Runnymede, King John signed his name to Magna Carta (Great Charter), basically a peace treaty between him and his nobility, in which he gave up some absolute power. The peace didn't last but it was the beginning of the long road to the US Constitution and no kings.

I live not far from the River Visual approach to KDCA. It’s not unusual to see a lot of planes going to or coming from the airport. Although, I couldn’t see them, I could hear the military planes. It sounded like we were under attack. A perfect sonic metaphor for Trump’s attacking the Constitution.
