To compel someone to leave, once here (deport them), they need to go through a removal process with an immigration judge, with appeal rights, both administrative and judicial. Permanent resident (green card) status can only be revoked through a removal process. /2

The United States government can revoke a visa, which is the "Get into the United States card." Thus, the person cannot return if they depart the United States. 1/

Not any felony conviction. Just particularly serious crimes (whatever that means). 8 USC 1158(b)(2)(A)(ii), (iii). Illegal entry is not particularly serious. Plenty of BIA and circuit court opinions say this.
