Incredibly good piece on how a paper on an honest attempt full of provisos to find if vaccines could also induce a "long-vax" (concluding: "possible unsure how big") got hijacked and eventually led to eg Musk sharing a tweet stating "this paper is proof that there is no long covid, only long vax"

Research today from Cancer Research UK suggests cancer death rates are 60% higher for people living in the most deprived areas of the UK compared with those in more affluent areas

Deaths triggered by Covid vs. Flu - this time for Germany As elswhere covid dwarfed flu at the height of the pandemic However, covid and flu death levels are more comparable this season

This could be an important paper (still only preprint) as its authors, using proper analytical measures, find concrete elements showing that "long vax" is a thing Remember: LV is not recognized as a condition so far 1/2

This is Belgium but covid continues to remain at very low levels despite this being the height of the winter season in northern Europe Is it because - there is too much immunity now against covid? - flu is "in the way" (and co-infections are difficult)? Answer in a few weeks😀

Western democracies face many issues which we should debate, let the people decide on, and have governments act on them (whether we like the actions personally or not) But a country must have a system to handle its leader trying to put himself above the law if it wants to remain a democracy

Service notice: I erased my thread of yesterday about evidence of a seasonal shift of non-covid respiratory during the pandemic I did the analysis "overall" and should have done it "excluding covid" After excluding covid, the evidence of seasonal shift disappeared 1/
