Sitting right here in his chair with my little dog in his lap. They were best buds throughout my dad’s late-stage dementia journey.

Pretty sure the current one is only aware of two books: Art of the Deal and Mein Kampf

I also raised kids to know better than some of the bad decisions they made. My parents raised me to know better than some of the bad decisions I made. The "kid" is an adult, his choices are his responsibility.

Actually my colleague Michael Peterson wrote it, he is a much better analyst than I am! I just published it for him and initially forgot to change the byline, but thank you for reading and for the kind words! He's a great pick!

it came across as very nasty. I have many loved ones who are in recovery and I don't play around about their sobriety because their decision to get sober saved their lives.
comment in response to post
Well people in recovery don't. And the reason they're, as you say, "loud" about being sober is to let other people who are in recovery know that they're not alone and to encourage them to stand strong in their sobriety. It's an objectively good thing and a weird thing to keep hollering at me about

The article actually explained it, maybe try reading it instead

Well congrats on having a different experience than literally every person I know who’s in recovery

My dad was also a teacher and then an administrator and I spent the last six months of his life trying to find a place my family could afford to pay for him to die in without my mom losing her house. Sounds pretty working class to me idk

My mom is so elitist with her $3300/month pension with no cost of living adjustments after teaching public school for five decades

This is exactly the reason I wanted to write about it! I am so glad to hear this.

Even just the idea of having non-alcoholic drinks around for people who don't want to drink alcohol for any reason is something a lot of people don't consider! I've got so many loved ones in recovery and I still learned a lot from putting this together!
