There was a pretty decent turnout (60) considering it was the first time at the SSA and it was 90 degrees at 1:00pm. 🥵

Not sure why, but three people have posted Tucson’s event on the 50501 site and not all of the information is the same. I hope this link works for you.

Voting yes on the Laken Riley Act was bad enough, but Senator Gallego co-sponsored the bill. And, as far as I can tell, he has done nothing to hold the Trump administration accountable for their unlawful actions and civil rights abuses.

It’s a big park and the Easter egg event is on the west side near the amphitheater. If I understand correctly, the protest is all along 22nd Street on the south end of the park. The April 5th protest was the same day as a mental health walk and I don’t think it caused too many problems.

I haven’t watched a single episode of Morning Joe since early 2016 when Joe and Mika were pimping for Trump and disparaging Hillary at every turn. It infuriates me that the show is still on the air while Rebecca Kutler has fired or demoted hosts like Joy Reid, Katie Phang, Alex Wagner and others.

Just discovered another reason to avoid parking lots off of Country Club, north of 22nd Street. There’s an Easter Egg Eggstravaganza event at the Amphitheater starting at 9:00am and they’re instructing participants to park in those lots. 🐰

There’s a big parking lot near the zoo and Hi Corbett baseball stadium. People also parked at El Con Mall (on Broadway) and walked straight down Randolph Way to 22nd Street. There’s also parking in the neighborhood south of 22nd Street down Palo Verde (across from Randolph Way).

The other notices I’ve seen list the location as 22nd Street and Randolph Way (same location as April 5th). This one has 22nd and Country Club which is about 1/2 mile west with fewer parking options.

I have no idea who the two guys holding the Trump jersey are, but I do know they will never make into the NFL. #ETTD

Yeah, I’m planning to attend this one. Just wasn’t sure if the Dept of Education protest on Friday is happening.

Trump has probably spent more time with Musk’s son in the past 3 months than he has with any of his grandkids in their entire lives.

You mentioned Green Valley and Sahuarita in your first post. Do you live closer to Tucson or Rio Rico? I saw there’s also a protest there on Saturday morning, although I’m guessing it’s much smaller than Tucson’s.

And Ruben Gallego invited this 🤡 to his weekend fundraising retreat in Sedona along with Marc Andreessen. 😩

Me, too! I’m always willing to be an extra body but I didn’t want to show up if the protest wasn’t actually happening.

Thanks! TUSD’s calendar indicates there is no school on Friday (Spring Holiday). However, that doesn’t appear to be the case for other districts.

I know you’re a Tucson teacher and was wondering if you have heard anything about a protest in support of the Department of Education at Ciscomani’s office on Friday morning. The only place I’ve seen it promoted is on the @takeactiontucson.org calendar.

Did you see the protest outside Ciscomani’s office on Thursday morning from 9:00 - 10:30am?

And big law firms that have caved to Trump’s demands for $ millions in pro bono work will help him carry out his unconstitutional agenda just like the attorneys at DOJ.

I don’t use Facebook but was able to access this post for Tucson’s event. I haven’t seen anything yet for GV/Sahuarita.

I’m happy about the earlier start because I was cooked by 10am at the Tesla Protest on Saturday. 🥵

The Take Action Tucson site and Hands Off page on Facebook have the start time listed as 8:45am, not 11:00am. Hoping you can clarify. 😊

I agree, especially for volunteers who are attending multiple events. This week alone in Tucson:
4/12 - Tesla protest
4/13 - Cory Booker Town Hall
4/15 - Tax Day Action - Ciscomani Office
4/15 - Hands Off Social Security - SS Office
4/17 - Stand Strong - Ciscomani Office
4/19 - 50501 Protest ???

I spoke with Phin and Mitch as the protest was wrapping up and they said the official attendance was 1,050. Pretty damn good considering the heat and earlier time.

I enjoyed chatting with you guys about our concert experiences this morning. I didn’t realize we already follow each other. 😊 Periodically check the Mobilize.US link for the town hall to see if they open up more seats as people cancel their RSVPs.

Just to clarify, it’s Catalina High School’s auditorium. It has theater type individual seats so they won’t be able to cram in extra people.

The email states that it’s in the auditorium. I checked the room capacity and it’s 826.

In 2024, we had 108 days that were 100 degrees or higher here in Tucson. Today is just the start. 🥵
