I too miss the 1940s, a time when punching a nazi got you a medal instead of a court summons.

"Wellness", above all, is a massive industry that outpaces pharma in size and scope.

With a very few exceptions, the number one thing my single mom friends want from their baby daddies is for them to literally show up. Show up when they're supposed to. Build a relationship with their kids.

One of my stand up jokes is how the biggest difference between the way I raise my kid and how me and my friends were raised, is that I actually like my daughter.
Always gets a laugh from the middle easterners, east europeans and asians.

I know it'll never happen, but this should be reason enough to take away Fox News' broadcast license.

There aren't third spaces because you cannot directly profit off them.

There will be no Nuremberg Trials in America. They'll get jobs in right wing thing tanks (today's thought: taxes are bad) and on right wing media.

What are you, an LLM?

My working class Polish (in Poland) family does this as well and my wife needed a moment to get used it when we started being more serious. We're not rude, we're just talkers.

Calling LLMs "fancy autocomplete" underlines that there is no intelligence happening. It tells us the models don't understand, are easily poisonable and can never be more than derivative. It rejects the notion of Intelligence in AI.

If you had to get out of your car and pay the full costs of your drive, you'd be extremely mindful of its use.
We sold our car last year. This year I've spent maybe 100€ on driving, most of it from IKEA back home. The idea of going grocery shopping for 80€ and spending 10€ on the drive? UGH.

It's a shame that doing this like this is any Polish city is akin to pulling teeth.

Building a military around people who don't have any better career or life prospects is a mixed bag, for sure.

There was a discussion about what's illegal in the US that's legal in your country, and I answered "children being out alone without adults" and got jumped on, people asking what laws. And I'm like... all of them.
