Please practice starting from P1 a lot during the off-season 😐

I was really interested in the Hyundai N Vision 74 and did a little research to see how viable hydrogen is for mass adoption. What I found is that the production of hydrogen is extremely inefficient. I'd like to see what Tesla has to say about that.

Basically: you can't just drive excessively slow on the racing line. It's unsafe. If you need to go slow enough that it takes you below the max allowed lap time (1min 40sec in Qatar), then you MUST get out of the way for traffic coming past you.
comment in response to post
Read the penalty notes. You can just park it up on the driving line. If Max needed to go slow, he should have driven in a safe manner and not impeded. It's unlikely that Russel wanted to pass, because it gave Max the slipstream. You'll never convince me this wasn't intentional to force overshoot

You can't just go slow on a cool down lap to get into the position you want. This is why max lap times exist. If everyone could overslow to get into the position they want (usually to get into a slipstream), qualifying sessions would just be a parking lot. 100% warranted penalty.

Both Checo and I took a little nap during qualifying 🤣

However, if he can't keep up with Leclerc, he might just hang up his hat and let Sainz come back. He seems pretty devastated in all these recent interviews.
comment in response to post
I was really hoping Sainz would go to Audi, since I'll be rooting for them in 2026. Williams just isn't competitive and it will be like watching Danny Ric wasting away at RB all over again. I do think Hamilton will catch his fire at Ferrari again though.
comment in response to post
Exactly. Even going back to 2022 with the W13, he told Mercedes to ditch the zero side-pod concept and they ignored him. It's been that way for a long time. I was never a big Hamilton fan, but I'm pretty excited to see him in another car. Hopefully Ferrari can keep theirs competitive in 2025

You just need to scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Sorry, I can't do anything right now":

Haha I also fell asleep in the gap between Q2 and Q3. Just barely woke up to see Verstappen take pole 😡
comment in response to post
Unsafe release during qualifying is usually just a fine, so no big deal for Sainz. I'm curious what the overslowing penalty will be though, as I'm sure we all are.
comment in response to post
Especially with the team giving him orders to keep position and not risk losing a place to Russel. I know "papaya rules" have been rough for both of these drivers, but I'm glad they seem to be dealing with them well. They're so evenly matched that next year is going to be even more interesting.
comment in response to post
I'm not sure if there's a penalty here, but standing on the brakes so the current pollsitter overshoots and has to give you a tow is certainly unsportsmanlike conduct.
comment in response to post
I didn't really enjoy how the pressure had been getting to him over the last half of this season. I hope he takes some time this winter to recenter himself because next year is going to be just as competitive.
comment in response to post
That's a decent idea! I'm going to be watching some previous F1 seasons, since I'm a newish fan, but both Indy and F2 are excellent options as well.
comment in response to post
I thought Toto did a good job explaining it when he was asked during the post race interviews: Hamilton just doesn't like the car and how it handles. He hasn't liked it for years and he can't wait for next year. Nothing is going to change that now. Let's see how he does in the Ferrari.
comment in response to post
To me, it appears that Max overslowed to force Russel to give him a tow for their final lap. I don't know the rules on that. As long as Max met the maximum lap time limit, he didn't necessarily break any rules. Just another example of unsafe behavior from Max that pushed the rulebook.

Light sabers pls, thx. I gave up on thinking SC would be a realistic game years ago. Just do what is fun.

Here are a couple examples:

If you go with the Logitech stick, you can get cheap mounts on Amazon: a.co/d/3jE0F8w For a step up, check MonsterTech: www.monster.tech If you're mounting like this, you need to get a keyboard and mouse tray as well to keep everything in line.
comment in response to post
The other benefit of HOMAS is that it's an easy transition to FPS, since you are already using your mouse a lot. That's where I recommend you start. Then when you're ready to upgrade, you can get a right hand stick and go full HOSAS.
comment in response to post
And if you do get mounting hardware, DON'T buy Predator mounts. The owner for that company is in the middle of a meltdown and has taken people's money and not shipped the orders.
comment in response to post
If you aren't ready to throw down money for a Virgil setup, consider looking at the cheaper VKB sticks: www.vkbcontrollers.com But don't forget that the optimal mounting location for a stick is a little lower than your desk, so you also have to spend money on mounting hardware.
comment in response to post
1) HOSAS is much better in SC. Unless you're space trucking, you want two sticks. 2) Consider HOMAS, with one stick and mouse for pitch/yaw. There are a lot of high skill pilots that swear by it, since you have far more accurate aim 3) Nothing beats a good HOSAS setup, but don't cheap out.

"Yup, that's me! You're probably wondering how I ended up in this situation." 🤣
comment in response to post
I generally agree, but not in the games current state. If we had enough content at each planet to where we could spend weeks before leaving, then it would make sense. But right now the starter missions have you jump everywhere and it would quickly become a turn off for new players.

I think most people were into the OG alien ships (Vanduul and BMM), but everything after that has been a little lackluster and focused on flight-ready ships to pump sales. It's the multi-crew alien ships that are most interesting.

Down to the commons to get a WhamBurger, of course!

Yeah... maybe this is a celebration we can just skip if it's going to be this cold every year. Make the FIA build a big hot tub if they want this.

Here's a few snaps of DJ that I collected during the event!

Excellent fight! The MegaMingle was a great event! I love seeing the community continue to build!

Brazil put any critics to bed. Hate him or love him, it's undeniable that he's one of the best drivers of all time.
comment in response to post
I hope he doesn't think of this season as a failure though. He made a tremendous charge this year. We saw him collect his first race win ever and fight neck and neck with a 4 time world champion all year. 2024 was a great Lando year! Let's hope the McLaren is still as fast in 2025!

🤣 instead of the warehouse guys, it can just cut to the driving team every once I'm a while and show them doing some shenanigans

I haven't noticed this before, but looking now it's eaten up 6% for me in 30 minutes. I have to keep watching.

Sainz. Perez can go out to pasture
comment in response to post
He absolutely didn't need this crash. I feel for him right now.
comment in response to post
I was really hoping he would go to Audi for 2026...
comment in response to post
At least another $1.5 mill in damages. I hope Williams brought enough spare parts.
comment in response to post
I think he's still in the positive, amazingly enough. The drop from 1st to 3rd in the Constructors only loses Red Bull $18 million, and Perez brings in close to $45 million in sponsorship deals. It's enough to keep him around for now.

With all the overtime they're getting, I think the opposite is probably the case 🤣 other mechanics will be clambering to get hired to pad their salaries!

Looks like Colapinto will pass Logan Sargeant in the Destructors Championship this year 😐

FIA needed a better narrative for the weekend to try and sell all the remaining tickets 🤣
