Text posts are too much like books–long, boring, ugh. Instagram pics are like memes–fun, relatable, easy to read

And working class people saw them and identified with them, felt seen and understood. I feel like I’m constantly reminding people that no matter how much you identity with a public figure, odds are that they don’t even know you exist.

The Trump administration is about rich sons (Trump, Musk, RFK Jr., possibly others) believing they’re qualified because they were born on home plate. And because of the way elite circles are insulated, they may truly not know otherwise.

The whole thing with the Thai cave rescue—both his plan and the accusation he made about the rescuer—should have been a big red flag. In fact, it’s a pattern we see today, him trying to solve problems without understanding them, and making wild untrue statements regardless of consequence

Is the US better off with stability in that region, or with Russia trying this same tactic with all of the countries that were part of the USSR? Is it better to support our allies, or for Russia to be a stronger country than it is today?

I know it’s trolling and I shouldn’t react but I’m still going to say, that’s disgraceful

Until the New York Times has a piece saying “Sure it’s unconstitutional but what would it look like if Trump was king?”

I’ve been wondering lately if they want to let it fail. I’ve heard MAGAs say that “Trump wasn’t allowed to be president” in his first term because of criticism he received. If this all fails, maybe voters will see what they’ve done. There’s no credit given for preventing something from happening.

I agree but it’s important to emphasize that Musk is acting under Trump’s authority, and by allowing this to happen, Trump is responsible for what Musk does

It’s weird to see anthropomorphized language used with computers. It’s like saying my laptop can remember more things than my phone because of its disk space

Do LLMs even cite sources, or do they just train the user to accept the software program’s word as fact?

“AI, how do I ‘both sides’ this story? What would a voter in a red state diner say about this?”

I was thinking about that, too. Why should I file my taxes only for Musk and DOGE to get my info? Filing taxes this year is a data privacy/security concern. They haven’t stated a purpose, they’re not taking only what they need, and who knows how long they’ll hold it for.

They move like the animatronics at Chuck E. Cheese. I remember when there was a big product announcement that they were adding legs.

I wondered if he was referring to changing names of military bases or academic buildings, which is much different than renaming an international body of water

Do I remember correctly that Biden and other Democrats didn’t fully support Ukraine until there was popular sentiment in the US to do so? I remember people expecting the war to be over quickly

Is that why they want Greenland? It seems to fit the isolation required plus the sense that Nordic/North Atlantic equals the future

Plus racism and misogyny. If he looked at Trump and Harris and thought Trump was more competent… It boggles the mind

Feels especially misleading when you understand the truth is that Trump fired the former KC president and made himself president. The headline makes it sound like someone else did that (Elon?)

That’s how it’s supposed to work, yes.

This is ridiculous. This is what Trump ran on. He literally said he was going to do this. What did they expect

Anti-abortion activists didn’t vote Democrat or sit out or vote third party because Republicans weren’t making sufficient progress. They kept consistently voting Republican because that was the only party that would do what they wanted them to do.

I agree with that. I also think expectations on the left need to change. Clinton, Obama, Biden did really well, but it wasn’t enough for some. There’s often a long game involved with political change. People can’t expect progress from Dems and then punish them by not voting for them.

Americans are overworked and in denial

It just seems like it’s always going to be this cycle where Democrats can’t clean up fast enough to make voters happy so no matter how much progress is made Republicans are always going to drag it back over the line and then some
