So Miller incited these protests by ordering officials he’d no authority over to ditch the administration’s stated policy of only seeking undocumented persons with criminal records and instead demanding they raid—yes, he specifically ordered this—Home Depots to get the max number of nonviolent folks

There is no mass-deportation campaign going on right now. Deportation is a process. This is kidnapping and human trafficking.

So then Elon goes "Kill the Bill!" and Trump goes "Elon has TDS!" so Elon goes "I'm the reason Trump won!" so Trump goes "we waste billions on Elon!" so Elon goes "Epstein!" and a corpulent flunkie goes "Deport Elon!" and Elon goes "Impeach!" And THAT'S why women are too emotional to be President.

I was kind of hoping to avoid wildfire smoke by moving away from the Pacific Northwest but this is the second June in three years with smoke in Toronto. Maybe we should, like, do something.

this is a letter to the editor from a high school track runner who came in second to a trans girl in a race. her state house rep in maine started talking about it. so she wrote this: www.pressherald.com/2025/05/14/r...

If there are Seven Cycling Wonders of the World, then Beijing’s elevated bike expressway deserves to be near the top of that list: a six-metre wide, 5.4-km long piece of show-stopping infrastructure that is quickly become an important form of transportation and recreation for 12,000 users each day.🧵

I’m very confused about how it’s somehow ok for American companies with right with owners to have majority stakes in major Canadian news outlets. National Post, Calgary Herald, Toronto Sun— all owned by Chatham Asset Management. All posting things like “Carney is more Trump-like than Pollievre”

When I signed up for Bluesky, I honestly never expected to see so many posts about golf. Still, better than Twitter…!

People in any country with leaders willing to negotiate with Trump on tariffs should elect new leaders. You can’t make a deal with a grifter who’s never honoured a single deal he’s ever made. Also while half of American voters are happy to give this guy what he wants, no one else should.

Last year, US lawmakers argued that a social media platform owned by someone close to an autocratic leader can be used as propaganda. They were talking about TikTok. For Canada, these concerns apply equally to the app formerly known as Twitter. “That’s why it’s time to ban Twitter/X in Canada.”

It’s 2025 and Canada still does not disaggregate economic data on wealth gaps by racialization categories. That which gets measured, gets managed….That which doesn’t, can conveniently be ignored.
