Here's Marky Mark on Jan. 6, hiding behind a chair in the Capitol, scared of the rioters who were there because he and his buddies egged them on with lies.

20 APRIL 1775, WILLIAMSBURG, VIRGINIA: For the first time in a week, the Patriots “grew a little negligent” and have no one watching the provincial powder magazine overnight, providing Lord Dunmore the opportunity to move its store of gunpowder to the Royal Navy’s custody.

RFK Jr. is going to burn in Hell for what he said this week about autistic children. I mean, he was already going, but now we are building yet another special place in Hell just for him.

Just watched, thanks for the recommendation.

i can’t think of anything i am *less* interested in than jake tapper talking to george clooney about the 2024 presidential election

NEW from me: RFK Jr. made it clear at a press conference that he'd promote "environmental factors" (read: vaccines) as a cause of autism, and trotted out a new phrase, "epidemic denial," to label people who disagree with his interpretation of data. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

rfk jr wants you dead

There is a 0.000% chance he wrote this one.

What Trump understands that you idiots don't is that inflationary pressure caused by the tariffs will be offset by the fact that nobody will have any money to buy things.

Where are the pix of pets at the protests?

I just got confirmation that National History Day, a program that does more to ignite K-12 students' love of history, learning, and yes, even the United States than anything else I've ever seen, had all its funding cut yesterday by the DOGE-axe at the NEH - including for this year's ongoing contest.

Again, they’re rolling these out piecemeal because if they did them all at once you might see some kind of united front. Once you get a few capitulations, it’s a signal you can pick them off one at a time

Everything in the Trump governing playbook follows the broad dictates of reality TV programming, and yesterday’s announcement of a historic lurch back into the hoary dictates of 19th-century protectionism was no exception.

Manufacturing is back!

@chuckwendig.bsky.social You and Robert Neville, Chuck. You and Robert Neville.

President Donald Trump says taxing imports will strengthen domestic manufacturing. Hours before announcing new tariffs, his administration cut support for centers that help US firms do just that.

Just watched Gavaldón’s La noche avanza (The Night Falls, 1952). Pedro Armendáriz is a ball of fire (and Borgnine-esque) in this melodrama/noir as a supremely egotistical, three timing jai-alai player. Looks great.

@benstiller.redhour.com Adam Scott IS James Bond in Season 3 of Severance.
