47 disguises himself as Bezos and nobody notices the difference because they are both bald, then proceeds to ominously declare this a party "to die for" with everyone cheering him on

And by fefinitely I mean definitely bwl

The revelations boil down to "management sucks", which I think is a pretty well known fact across the majority of the game dev sphere. Wish things were better but not much to do there, unfortunately

Crazy how a game with such a convoluted business model over the course of the trilogy is so perfectly designed in gameplay that you just kinda forget about that. More games need exploding ducks and homing briefcases

Meanwhile I'm really enjoying being region-locked out of buying singleplayer Sony games on Steam even though I live in a country where I can go into a store and buy a PS5 and associated titles and peripherals!

Six Ages! Both of them! Successor to King of Dragon Pass and works similarly: Lead a clan by making a bunch of decisions and resolving events. Event chains and your clan circle personalities lead to plenty of emergent storytelling. store.steampowered.com/app/2278010/...

People also like to treat it all as canon, even though it isn't, just because he made a sci-fi meta story about the concept of canon.

Also it has like literally no bad music? And that all also has occupied my brain a lot.

Still? Even though they've been consistenly doing patches for stuff people want since the big update """flopped"""? I genuinely feel like ARPG players are like the most fickle audience, I can't name a single game in the genre they actually like (other than D2 because rose tinted glasses)

I've heard others say the same.

Actually, as unnecessary as remasters/remakes are especially of Bethesda games that still mostly run fine, it would be fun to see a modern Morrowind without the tech limits and with the extra weirdness. Or actually, just wait until Skywind is finished I guess

I have mixed opinions on his writing and generally think people hype it up too much, but his art is really good and while the game did not get nearly as funky as the concept art, it still was funky enough to stand out

I've done some of the "post-game" stuff but I'm at the point where the things I need and threads I want to follow require dumb amounts of RNG and idk if I can be bothered to try. Also didn't help that I found one big puzzle underwhelming at the end. Still was a fun experience overall though!

Same as Daggerfall fans were disappointed about Morrowind before them

Really going for that authentic mid-2000s video game feel with brown filter there. Annoyingly so, considering that Oblivion is known for being blindingly bright

There's just something so endearing about those 2006 potato faces, overblown bloom and 40% of the population being voiced by Wes Johnson. I haven't been big on the remaster train ever since the rumors started because I like Oblivion as it is (plus I feel bad for the Skyblivion folks), but let's see

The devs' stance on player numbers and engagement basically is "We just want you to play a couple of weeks to a month every update", so like if they don't like it they could just do something else and check in once in a while (I used to do this with PoE1) But of course, it's the internet, sooo...
comment in response to post
The funniest part was that the developers wanted to run this as "proper" early access (e.g. frequent smaller patches and changes), but the backlash from the initial post-launch nerfs of mega broken builds was so loud they decided to do a schedule similar to leagues in PoE1

New PoE2 update incoming as well

I don't think attaching any special categories to open votes ever works, it ends up just being a popularity contest either way. Audience votes should only be reserved to "audience vote" awards, trying to do anything "fancier" is just a bit disingenuous because a lot of people voting don't care.

The learning thing is what I find the most interesting and engaging, although it is often so overwhelming to just have to figure out things and not being sure if you are doing it the right way. Then again, I'm doing this as a hobby, so I guess I shouldn't be that hard on myself

I see potential here for debugging power naps to test if things are working as intended after upload

Now this has me thinking: How is media handled in sleeptime? Music and such I can see being made in it, but you'd have to transfer photos and stuff. Do you have to like put in a floppy disk with your files before you go bed? (Also I hope we get more Chowder Man and Seepage just for music)

Need to get back to Ace Attorney Investigations sometime too to finish that up, and Echoes of Wisdom

I've had it occasionally that I have a burning pain in the lower neck/shoulder area that moves down to the upper arm, but never went to a doctor about it as it went away after a day or two. Really uncomfortable though and has reoccured a couple times

Hey, you don't actually kill the Pope in AC Brotherhood, someone else does before you get around to it... ...But you do still fistfight him in the Vatican in 2 and win

It looks like a game made entirely for the "mod sims to look hyperrealistic to just take photo mode pictures" crowd, which is fine I suppose, but I personally associate sims more with the wacky weirdness of it all.

Daggerfall relesed so busted you couldn't complete the main quest on launch. Even after fixing a lot of issues though, there's a reason someone decided to port it to Unity, and sure maybe accessibility plays a part but also the original engine is weird jank incarnate
comment in response to post
Idk why they are trying to improve on perfection though But if the rumors are true and it is actually happening I'd feel pretty bummed for all the people working on getting Skyblivion out this year getting undermined by this
comment in response to post
I've considered this but in the context of inspiration-based evolution, e.g. what games were inspired by what other games (video, board or otherwise) from a mechanical/game design perspective. There are some clear lineages that do emerge in some places, but a full-scope thing would be big and messy

I may also be slightly annoyed at myself for not spotting this one when I was playing through it myself, it was very much a "Hey hang on a minute" moment when I did realize it

Jimtern really is like the one guy at EA keeping C&C relevant. I'm really hoping we do get that 2nd remastered collection eventually, RA2 was the first game I ever played and still is my favourite

Every time I try and get back into Warframe I fail because I feel like I end up playing at a much slower pace than the game expects me to, so any kind of progression ends up taking ages. Like comparing myself to "decent" players just feels like I'm a snail

I'm actually a bit surprised that this doesn't happen more often with some more popular things, i.e. "Sims-likes" and Elder Scrolls adjacent games being a more recent thing than something people jumped on earlier. Then again, I guess 10-ish years ago it was more hopeful in terms of new releases

Despite being relatively short, this game has influenced me a lot, from humor and music taste to just straight up vocabulary. Sometimes you just have beefbrain and it happens.
