While soldiers deploy to downtown Los Angeles to deal with a small protest, freight trains carrying tanks have moved into DC for Trump's bizarre military parade.
The absurd theatrics are a sign of a weak, frightened regime. They're flailing. The desperation is palpable.

And of course, heaven forfend they hire an English major or two to help because then they couldn't make fast food worker joke and it would show that the humanities are not in fact useless

I was goth adjacent in HS (friends with the goths, went in and out of the aesthetic myself; still do TBH) during the 90's in the Bay Area and hard agree. Exploring the rejection of all meaningless conformity-based social norms was an explicit activity. Gender was very much specifically one of them.

Weird how the strategy is to get everyone using it and then figure out the use cases. Seems inverted. 🤷🏿♂️

💯 As if every business and leadership publication isn't full of "be a storyteller" advice and has been for at least 20 yrs
They don't want people questioning whether they're reporting facts or what they want ppl to believe & they certainly don't want ppl realizing that they too can tell stories

I stopped dating in my early/mid 30's, and every time I've gone back out, I wish I hadn't, and anecdotally, a lot of other women I know are in the same boat. I'm curious how many of us there are.

The thing that really scares me is that DHS thugs are terrorizing people in broad daylight in crowded locations where they know everyone will be filming them and they’re doing it anyway. They don’t fucking care. Kind of debunks the idea that past atrocities could’ve been avoided with more media.
