One day when I was really down a man, possibly homeless & definitely not regular, walked past me and said, enthusiastically, I love you, you are beautiful. I laughed and a large dark cloud that I’d been carrying for awhile disappeared. I have to feel sorry for her, she must feel so much negativity.

I would like to see bike parking mandates in all apartment buildings too. Mine has a sizable basement, much of which is used for nothing. But yes, there should be city parking also.

To underscore it, it was just a routine visit. Without medical coverage people don’t get those kinds of appoints at all and things that are treatable or even curable early on are far less likely to be discovered.

My partner would have died if we did not have medicaid. We didn’t have any idea that he had a serious & rare medical condition until, by almost chance, a small irregularity was noticed by an ENT doc during a routine exam. Could be anybody. Ppl will literally die & families devastated without it.

Definitely. It became urgent the day Adams won the Dem primary last time around but fell on unhearing ears back then, unfortunately.

It’s all about her not wanting Cuomo to become the next mayor. And if he does anyway, you know he’s going to be looking at some retribution directed at Hochul.

Imo, it is mostly the consequence of a lack of engagement and an absent sense of responsibility. In other words, lazy and unpatriotic. That is, in regards to the mass that didn’t even bother to vote.

Unfortunately there is no shortage of lawyers willing to kill rights and promote lawlessness in the interest of personal gain. I’ve known some. They are given cover by the platitude that “everyone” deserves a defense. It’s a serious flaw in the professional standards imo.

It does not appear to be a parking lane at that point. Too skinny & see the lines crossing it. It’s a painted buffer, which is close to totally useless.

We need actual concrete curbs.

Yes, that seems correct. Fetterman was not a progressive, he was just not a republican. But back when he was running people saw what they wanted to see.

If we believe it is sunk, then it will be. That’s their game isn’t it - demoralize, divide, conquerer. Keep trying, keep pushing and keep affirming those who do it on your/our behalf. For those who aren’t putting on a fight, tell them what you want.

They are. Though truthfully I didn’t know they existed.

Most people who’ve attended NYU would know that this bunch is an oddity on campus in itself. Now they want Barron to join their club so they can drool all over him.

Actually, it was my opinion at the time, not just in retrospect. Personally I think that it was Obama’s advisors that failed him by pushing him towards the center consistently.

People in those districts need to call their reps every single week to voice their opinions. That is probably the only way.

If there’s a positive to this at all, it gives Europe notice of the nightmare we are facing over here and that it’s going to affect the whole world. Be prepared. 😕

Generally. But Obama was more on the middle of the road when you look at his record. HC’s health plan was more progressive as one example. I place HRC slightly left of Obama, but I know that some don’t agree of course. His speech always sounded more progressive to me than his policies actually were.

Governments aren’t suppose to make profits either. The should be consistently “losing” money and providing services.

I agree, definitely, but I also think we need to revise what the American Dream is or just drop that idea altogether. It ought to be quality of life, heath, education, dignity, but not a lawn & 2 car garage. Hoping that David Hogg will help bring Dems into the present.

And that is the failure of Bill Clinton’s second term right there. And those mistakes caused suffering that is still going on today.

Many Americans don’t realize that our food is quite inexpensive compared to other countries. One reason for that is the underpayment of workers like Maria.

Seriously. It affects all levels. I handled an employment discrimination case (civil) that went on for over 10 years. Too many ways that the system can be slowed down & there are often judges that aid that conduct.

I won’t be watching. But frankly I’ve never really understood why anyone does. Football is damn boring. I tend to think that the attraction is mainly overeating.
