One finding: “Most notably, the use of noun chunks has increased greatly since the 1950s.”
Revising to eliminate “noun chunks” (3 or more nouns in a row) is one of the most common edits I make in journal manuscripts.

Repeat after me, editors:
punctuation is about helping readers. Sometimes we get too caught up in applying style rules and forget that.
I know I have been guilty of this.

I do think that if a story is described or marketed as being in the romance genre, the contract with the reader is that the protagonists will get together ❤️
