I spent the afternoon in this amazing #cave. If you’re ever near Marianna, Florida, go see Florida Caverns State Park.

P&W editors Emma Komlos-Hrobsky and Luciano Grigera Naón offer a behind-the-scenes look at how notable summer contests are run, who they serve, and why they do what they do—pushing boundaries and celebrating new talent and marginalized voices. Get the scoop: at.pw.org/InsideTheContest

A blessed Beltaine to all who celebrate. This #poem is from "Seasons & Solace." #poetry #beltaine #beltane #druidry

This is something I penned in November 2023, but it seems more relevant now. #poetry #poems #poets

I loved this prompt. It took me to a place I didn't expect. #poetry #poems

Thanks to @profkiki-poetry.bsky.social for suggesting the Welsh Awdl Gywydd poetic form today. I gave it a shot. #poetry #poems #druidry

The algorithm is not your audience. Make something a person would cry over.

My white #roses in all their glory. 😁 #bloomscrolling

I love resistance poems, protest songs, and visual arts that stand for freedom. But I'll be thrilled when things are so calm that we might even get bored. I'll be delighted when we are most inspired by the love, safety, and unbridled joy we feel instead of the constant threat of persecution.

Sentenced to prison for using poetry to speak truth. 😢 www.reuters.com/world/europe...

The Time Is Now to spark your writing! This week we recommend an anthology of feminist literature edited by Roxane Gay and #PWWritingPrompts on seasonal changes, sensory perception, and new traditions. Read more: at.pw.org/TTIN

National Poetry Month Prompt 18: Poets are known for the way they immortalize love, but how often do we turn that gaze upon ourselves? What are the things you are, that you have loved? Use the following Toni Morrison line as a jumping off point. "And I am all the things I have ever loved..."

Here's my take on this prompt. Genetic memory is something I've wanted to write more about. #poetry #poems

I was born in 1974, but I hung out with hippies in my teenage years. We liked nature, psychedelic rock, and anything that pushed aside a future we dreaded. We didn't want to be part of the machine, though it found us anyway, but we had a taste of freedom for a short while. #poetry #poems #memories

I was honored to be part of this project with Mary Reynolds Thompson, one of my favorite authors. youtu.be/tj4-UShV-V8?... You can find the poem I read here: poets.org/poem/high-st...

My take on this prompt. #poetry

Today’s #doodle. When the past feels heavy, listen to your higher, wiser self. You hold the key to your own freedom.

Wonderful advice. When I'm writing about trauma, I take a walk around the neighborhood or do some work in my garden, anything that gets me outside for a while. #writinglife

Ahh, sweet jasmine, you are a delight to the senses! #gardening #bloomscrolling
