And forced to the ground and handcuffed.

Sounds about right. Pretty tough to fill that 77% they claim when it’s looked at this way. Can’t imagine an energy regulator would skew to the side of the O&G industry *snorts in alberta*

The Reuters piece also notes the 77% utilization, the projected future utilizations and mentions the other nations taking oil from TMX. I’ll be following along for some closure to the discrepancies.

Is there really another 305,000 barrels being shipped elsewhere in 2024 if they were at 77% utilization?

Also “The U.S. took about 173,000 bpd from the pipeline in the same period.” So 380,000 BPD of 890,000 capacity or 43%. How much were you saying vs what Max was saying?

My one grandma was a housekeeper, and the other worker in a cafeteria by day and crawled around picking worms out of the mud for bait at night, while yours was like “gee golly, work sounds like freedom”…we always erase working class women from the capitalist mythology of feminism and labour.

This is the myth perpetuated by women who had cooks and maids and nanny’s who weren’t even conceived of as women because they were women of colour or too poor to even entertain the idea of being a stay at home mom. Women always worked, women will always work. This is inane nonsense.

I hope his wife comes home, gets pissy when he asks her to contribute and then turns on the TV and complains about not having enough free time for herself.

It funny but also quite morbid given that accurate context.

You’re not alone in the proofreading department. Except when I do I still miss errors and post things that make me look like a dolt.

I also find it curiously informative that the spokesperson identified cyclists as able bodied, military age. Because that’s honestly feels akin to the risk you’re taking cycling with cars. Chance of death at every turn.

I think people are generally so self absorbed by their own perceived lack of convenience, especially if they feel their expense is gain for another, that they’ll spite any good policy or progress. Even shorter version… We’re collectively broken by capitalism.

Thanks for acknowledging. I don’t know if non BJJ people completely understand. I really care for my coach and understand the situation he faces (if he were to upset the apple cart and go it alone) so I don’t want to demand anything of him, nor do I want to leave. Leaving would let a lot of…

to something good. I make a direct positive influence on the kids I coach and I still enjoy learning and rolling. But my motivation is definitely being affected the current zeitgeist of grappling culture. I really wonder if my participation is worth it some days.

the waiting game as people around me continue to receive the recognition they worked years for. To say resentment is building within me a bit is true. Being progressive in a largely ignorant or regressive (fascistic, inherently paternal and hierarchical culture) is tough on the sense of belonging…

belts weren’t awarded on the first day because I know it would bother me that was a black belt directly under a person whose world and political views are so starkly opposed to mine. I don’t want that direct association hanging over me. So I’m stuck for at least another year and a half playing the…

This past October that person was here in Edmonton and I skipped the 2nd day of the seminar where 2 black belts were awarded to 2 guys who became brown belts the same day I did. I felt the sting of missing out, but I also know that for my own piece of mind I made the right decision. I’m glad…

I’ve been a brown belt since May 2022. My coach doesn’t have the 2 stripe black belt authority to award me my black belt yet. So I’m actively refusing to attend a seminar in the fall to be awarded my belt from someone who I see as being far too comfortable with the fascist track the US is on.
