if the caps aren't your vibe, i'd be happy to recommend another team. based on your description i'm not sure if there's a single standout "we might be bad but it's gonna be fast and fun" team this year, but there are a few decent options.

- we got swept in those playoffs (honestly, hilarious and deserved)
- we got a bunch of new guys, all of whom are thriving, and we are somehow second in the league

and it gets even worse when you consider how many teams in the nhl use similar colors. i’m a caps fan and here’s the list of opponents who i could watch play us without issue if we just decided dark-on-dark was okay:
knights, preds, maybe sharks

i do think there’s a way to do it where teams use more color in their light jerseys, instead of white as a base color. but the more teams you have and the more color combos you have, the trickier it gets to ensure sufficient contrast.

as someone who is colorblind, i find the dark-on-dark games very difficult to watch. given that my condition effects like 1 in 20 people, i would hate to see that become the standard.
