What part of Hotwire do you find the hardest? I might add some bonus content to our Learn Hotwire course to answer those.

Ok, I'm *pumped* to be speaking at Balkan Ruby at the end of April. 😊 Can't wait to visit Bulgaria for the first time and hang out with Rubyists in Sofia! Who else will I be seeing there? 👁️👁️

This was a great episode with Joe! I went into it with one idea about why and how I might approach writing a technical book, and came out with another. Also, our discussion of burnout and mental health got *deep*, and I think was really important, especially for indie folks.

📣 If you chose Ruby or Rails for your startup in the recent years, I want to interview you, get your feedback for the Ruby community and feature you in my conference talks this year! Friends, please retweet or mention Ruby startups for reach. cal.com/inazarova/fe...

Late birthday present to myself, I have just made Owl.so generally available to the world, and updated the website! 🎉 ✅ Interstitial journal ✅ Zero-effort task management ✅ Weekly planner It's free while in beta, so please give it a try and see if it works for you 🙇‍♂️

Do you have a project, event, or opportunity to share with the Ruby community? 👀 Here's your chance! Ruby Central is going to start sharing "community spotlights" in our newsletter and on social media. Apply to be featured in our Feb newsletter: https://buff.ly/40ZiDsm

I'm on a roll with new blog posts. (We'll see how long that lasts, ha!) This next one is on how to implement electronic signatures in Rails using Active Storage, Stimulus, and Signature Pad. There's also a short digression into designing routes/controllers. 😊 hybrd.co/posts/electr...

If you know anyone hiring Staff+ full-stack Ruby/TypeScript engineers, I’d really appreciate an introduction. I’m especially interested in anything related to realtime collaboration, CRDTs and bespoke rich text editors.

Come hang with me at Sin City Ruby in April! We're giving away a free ticket INCLUDING HOTEL!! You just need to get yourself there. 😁 @jasonswett.bsky.social puts on an amazing show (so I've heard), and Judoscale is excited to be a sponsor. Details here: judoscale.com/blog/sin-cit...

I upgraded a Rails app using Postcss to Tailwind v4 last week and it took several hours, so I thought I'd share my notes… hybrd.co/posts/upgrad...

I was listening back to this episode this afternoon, just before hitting publish, and was inspired again by Jim's personal mission. He's been a support to me personally, and I know to countless others as well. He's a good example of what makes the Ruby community great. ❤️

Any Ruby folks open to a 3-12 month gig? GraphQL migration to the latest Apollo Router, remote, quick start, and sounds like a fairly well known shop with good eng. Will forward interest to a friend who was looking.

I deployed #solidcache into production today. In the past I've asked around about what kind of performance people had been seeing and gotten back nothing, so, a quick thread about my experience, and a subtle gotcha to avoid if pre-warming/transferring. #ruby #rails

Ok, I think I've finished my favorite albums list for 2024. 😌 albumwhale.com/jeremysmithc...

Any Ruby/Rails folks in the Dallas/Ft Worth that are interested in finding others and potentially interested in a meetup?

I’m available for hire. I’m an experienced Ruby, TypeScript and CSS engineer looking for a new full-time position. I can help you with performance, concurrency, testing, architecture and API design problems on tooling or product teams. I’d really appreciate any personal introductions. DMs open. 🙏

Rubyists! We're planning to write up some "how-to" docs for Nokogiri. What are things you frequently do with XML or HTML, or wish there was a short recipe for? Tell us here: github.com/sparklemotio... #ruby #xml #html

Also, I was getting a little frigid today. 🥶😅

Episode 50 has advanced to the next round! 🏆 Jess and Jeremy kick off their first recording of the year with a recap of 2024 and a look at goals and plans for 2025. Hope you enjoy! www.indierails.com/50

Hoping to get back to writing again in 2025. Here's my first blog post in <checks notes> almost 3 years. 😅 hybrd.co/posts/stimul...

For the second edition of The Rails and Hotwire Codex, I'm torn between switching to SolidCable, or sticking with the Redis adapter 🤔. I'm sticking with Postgres as the DB, and switching jobs from Sidekiq to SolidQueue, meaning Redis is needed for only ActionCable and Kredis. Any suggestions??

Looking for work! Available immediately for iOS/macOS and Ruby on Rails development — contract or full-time. Former Apple engineer with 15+ years of iOS experience and 4 years in Ruby on Rails. I'm great at both. Please share! 🙏 #iosdev #swiftdev #macdev #ruby #rubyonrails

New year, new episode of IndieRails! 👋😊 (Also, slightly updated intro!) Jess and I really enjoyed this episode with @paulca.com–man, he's got some stories!! 😁

Happy new year from Jess and Jeremy! 👋 We're over here now. 😊
