Illinois has really cleaned up since the Daly days (and Blago). Good to know! NJ is improving. Gold bar Bob Menendez was forced out (via felony), and we now have Andy Kim in the Senate who is as good a guy as they make.

That’s why this Jersey guy is so impressed. Our Gov Murphy has done some of this, but not nearly as much.

Abe Lincoln got us out of treacherous times. Pritzger can (perhaps) get us out of turbulent times. Could have just as easily said FDR. The historical bio is not my focus.

Same thing! Ha! I remember those lips as a kid. Hard to find these days.

He’s keeping his promise, remember? “The army of millions and millions of human beings screwing in little screws to make iPhones—that kind of thing is going to come to America.”

Whew! My lawyer father knew lawyers who told him they used to bill when they were taking a shower, dining alone at a restaurant, etc. They said as long as they were thinking about the case, it was billable time. So definitely.

I just posted something similar elsewhere. He exudes empathy, is easy mannered but direct talking. Strong but not aggressive. And, yes, physically relatable to so many.

America needs him just as we needed Lincoln.

Terrible. Decent people must stand up against fascism and bigotry everywhere and every day.

Kudos for going into the fox den (pun intended). You’re one of our most effective Ds. Pritz for Prez!

Rfk jr is so odious he made me sympathetic for the Republican governor of West Virginia, whom he made fat jokes about on a shared stage. He berated the poor guy over and over about his weight. Such a dick.

1 B on paper could be a couple hrs “work.” Optics is everything with all these asses.

I’m wondering how billing will work. A lot of ritzy law firms bill like mad. One case could be “billed” 90M for specialist advising, trips, blah blah blah. They could probably whittle this to 2 or 3 small cases. Cynical, yes, but we are talking big law firms.

Pritzger was just doing state trade meetings in Mexico. That’s a start. The touted candidates don’t seem to be doing much to advance themselves. Some doing the opposite (Big Gretch and the tariff embrace).

Nailed it. We got all excited about the military woman running against Mitch McConnell, donated bundles of cash, then got clobbered. This keeps happening. Must vote strategically. Charisma is a must, but so is demographics (at the moment).

I too used to solely blame folks that look like me. Until I realized, whoa! So many patriarchy addicted voters! I don’t know the way out. More women mayors and governors, first, would get people used to the idea.

Don’t forget immigrant voters. My best buddy’s Hispanic gf - usually votes Dem, said “do you realllly think a woman could do the job as president?” Very common sentiment. Most Indian immigrant men I talked to said the same. All voted for the only guy running.

JB Pritzger. Talks like a regular person, exudes competence and empathy. Doesn’t come across as elite - even though he’s a billionaire. That’s all I’ve got… Worst candidate would be Buttigieg - condescending way of speaking, know-it-all demeanor. Never ran for anything but mayor.

Read Jonathan Allen’s new book Fight. Harris campaign was vindictive, clueless, and spent more time attacking perceived intraparty threats like Klobuchar and Whitmer than focusing hard on winning. Seems they didn’t want Walz to be a loose cannon verbally-speaking-thought he’d offend some subgroup.

My first thought. Come on! If those two hold a rally in NYC or New Jersey, I’m going because of AOC, not Berns.

And California has a lot of natural beauty. That’s what I don’t get. People in the crowded urban centers always vote overwhelmingly Dem - in all states.

Applies to every state. Even in New Jersey - once I go to a less populous area, trump flags and other cultural shit everywhere. I still don’t get it. Why does more natural beauty and fascist politics go hand in hand?

never bend at a bully’s command. The only thing that’s ever been shown to beat a bully is to not just stand firm but shove back harder.

Could be a bunch of meth-addled trumpists pretending to be agents. No way of knowing, so, without verifiable court orders, all should be treated as imposters.

Underreported are the many immigrants who would not vote for a woman candidate. I talked to many immigrants from India, Hispanic countries, and Asia who said things like “do you really think a *woman* can be president?” Misogyny runs deep in many cultures—deeper than even here.

Paul Krugman pointed out that the last time the tariffs were this high, under Hoover, it led to the Great Depression. The zigzags of the market might let a tiny group make quick trades, but the whole market does much better for all when it’s as stable as can be. He’s poking it for shits and giggles.
