It’s worth pointing out that, since September 2015, trans people in Ireland have been able to apply to have their preferred gender legally recognised by the State. And since then, everything has been . . . fine. People just got on with their lives. www.citizensinformation.ie/en/birth-fam...

Anyway, arguments around neutrality aside, please continue to donate to help the people of Gaza survive this ongoing genocide.

Really disturbed at the moment to see calls for an end to Irish neutrality circulating on here. Under our current system any individual who wants to can go and enlist in another army & fight if they wish to. And end to neutrality means committing to what - a European army? What would that 1/4

It's Sunday night, so here is a Villanelle about Villanelle from Killing Eve. It's called Villanelle Villanelle & it's featured in the latest @hogriverpress.bsky.social 🐖

Lovely to see @jesstraynor.bsky.social's poem 'Midwinter' from her third collection Pit Lullabies read so beautifully by Ayesha Ostler in this @brinkerhoffpoetry.bsky.social film. Pit Lullabies is distributed in the US by @consortiumbooks.bsky.social.

If I had been in that press gaggle I would’ve grabbed one of those gilded geegaws off the mantelpiece and brained that fucking gowl

Very excited to have four new poems from New Arcana featured in the fabulous @hogriverpress.bsky.social They're a stunning journal available in hard copy and online, give them a follow and enjoy their wonderful curation 🐖🐖🐖 @bloodaxebooks.bsky.social

The fact that the USA has banned visas for trans people but welcomed rapist Andrew Tate shows how all this "defending women" stuff is total bullshit

The crux of this framing is that men will “exploit” trans inclusivity to perv in women’s bathrooms. The problem is: men - like the *registered sex offender* in this story - already do this, and there’s zero evidence that trans-inclusive policies have suddenly incentivised more of them into action.

How gorgeous is this? Such a lovely surprise to see Midwinter from Pit Lullabies read so beautifully. Big thanks to Ayesha and Matthew and all at @brinkerhoffpoetry.bsky.social & @radalondon.bsky.social ❄️ @bloodaxebooks.bsky.social

Episode Two of The Tolka Podcast features the marvellous Tim MacGabhann, reading his piece 'The Intransitive' from Issue Seven. Tim joins hosts Maddie and Liam to talk about his insatiable reading and writing, Victor Serge, and—yes—the golden age of ape cinema 🦍 open.spotify.com/episode/4YjY...

. Gaza The dead boy tries to open his eyes. He wants to see the world he is leaving. But there is nothing to see here, nothing and nothing, and anyway he is gone. His parents held him while he died but they are both dead, too. Or he held them, no one remembers. .

The new data centre rules are some cop out. They want to protect the grid but will allow new fossil fuel plant to power them instead? Contrary to Climate Action Plan. Data centres are huge energy users not to mention water consumption

I wrote this on the most consistently terrible, and fatal, idea in centrist politics today. On Fanta, rebadging, and why attempting to win votes from fascists is morally disgusting and politically suicidal. www.irishexaminer.com/lifestyle-co...
