IIRC, they have him on a hog a few times 😉 But the writers certainly knew what they were doing with his name. The writing in the show isn't consistently excellent, but it's typically a tight, effective (if formulaic) script that knows what it's about.

Probably not. That one and the liquor are thought to be Romany in origin, related to rumbustious, “good, fine,” maybe shifted from the phrases like rum bouse "good liquor.” Others include rumbustical, rambumptious, rumgumptious, rambuskious, rumstrugenous, all words for bold, brash, rough things.

In Middle English, though, you’ll find it in use with the sense of a loud outcry or clamorous protest, and even later you may see “rumorous” describing something that makes a loud, confused sound.

When my mom visited last month she was like “oh nice job, you’re growing microgreens” and I decided not to tell her that my objective was regular sized greens This is why the best career advice you’ll ever receive is “under-promise and over-deliver”

The word is older than the clock's tick, but it is indeed echoic!

And I like that it's after a boxy clacky bell, like these, not a pretty clear musical bell! I wonder what we'd call it if it were after a different bell? "Let's meet at two o'chime." "It's daylight savings time; I need to reset my CLAANNNG."

He was such a stud when he was younger! He looked as close to Batman as a dog can get. But contrary to appearances he's always been a smushy goofball.

He was such an Adonis as a young fellow! Now he's more distinguished with his salt-and-pepper glaze.

We often have some research overlap, but we typically end up bringing almost completely different things to each episode. I always learn something new from Rob during our recordings.

After we've recorded, the brilliant @martynmnw.bsky.social then edits the video and audio into its final, extraordinary form. Prep takes me about three hours per ep. The nice thing about the process is that we can then turn that research into content for future books, videos, conference talks, etc.

It’s not totally wrong, but it’s missing a lot of info. We’ll see if I can manage to make better sense of it. Either way, my kingdom for people to stop using the AI summary to answer questions of any kind. It just scrapes from the best optimized sites, not the most authoritative.

I’ve watched it several times over and will definitely do so again! I didn’t realize anyone disliked it. I thought it was perfect.

Compared to this one “mid” is pretty straightforward Gen Z slang—that I can handle! It’s the surreal Gen Alpha slang that (apparently intentionally) sets me chasing my tail.

I'd prefer September and October but I'm here for the sentiment. Transitional seasons are the best.

I expect the smaller ones are much less expensive. My pup is about the size of a German shepherd. But I've heard folks have good luck with pet supplies on various reseller marketplaces too!

We've only had about two days above 60 degrees since October of last year, so the warmth is needed.
