holy shit that last level though, my co-op partner and I really just sat there going WHAT THE FUCK for the whole thing, because what the fuck, how dare they be so good at designing games

I was just expecting them to be so much more obscure than that, in that I didn't expect 'man who has whole film named after him' to be particularly unknown?? But wow, okay. Those are incredible creative menaces to have chosen, I love it. (+ Jake Morgendorffer - different chaos. The layers. Amazing.)

(I realise it sounds like I'm being facetious, but I'm also here like 'okay but what if my truest avatar is a background character from a filler episode of House or something, time to list comprehensively list (and rewatch??) everything I've ever seen just to be sure')

Okay but see to me, that just shows true dedication to the cause. You've really gone into the deep recesses of your brain to find the t r u t h. The obvious choices are boring and false icons. The truest answer is surely a forgotten character from a decade ago?? (Also I'm so curious who you chose??)

(what if people see me completely differently to how I see myself?? what if they think I am wrong and unworthy of the characters I choose?? these are not real problems... and yet...)

I stand by my vague use of the words "tried" and "something" and will give them no more praise than that

I have no idea how well the collection runs, but 2 is the best one. 3 is also good (it has horses). 1 should be honoured for laying the groundwork and having the best soundtrack.

Genuinely shocked at how few people are acknowledging the bullshit. Baffling. Disheartening. Naiively, despite everything, expected better? But lol.

Those are some big, shitty feelings my dude. Been there. But you are a kind and passionate person, and are always so willing to support others - some of my favourite qualities in people. I'm sorry it's not fun being you, and god, I so get that feeling. But you are absolutely more than good enough.

Hell yeah, that's great news!! I love this! Fingers crossed so hard for your job lead!

For sure! And I didn't know they'd been in some of the comics too! (Comics are always a bit of an unknown world for me). I should absolutely investigate them, Holtzmann is the MVP

And that is such a reasonable assessment of it?? I enjoy it probably more than it deserves, it's absolutely not life-changingly good, but it is fun, and it didn't deserve the 'so catastrophically bad that we must erase it from our memories of the franchise' treatment that it got from many losers

Absolutely. Waaay too common. And I get being disappointed that a new version is less like the older thing you loved, so it might not become a new thing you love, but that older thing isn't going anywhere.
There's room for all of us to have things we love and that resonate with us

It absolutely does rock. And I probably would make the argument that this one is funnier, but it also very clearly just hits on more of my specific brand of humour, so I'm very willing to accept that's personal taste

It really, really does. The originals are classics - always will be - and I mostly hate the weird insinuation that people liking this one has to detract from that? They can all be good and different films
(I agree though, this one is also my favourite)
