Granted I was playing the most popular hacks which tend to be older. All three of them are early hacks. I agree, they are not bad hacks. I just really don't think SM64 lends itself well to precision and kaizo. It lends itself more to speedrunning. It doesn't have the controls for precision.

I play a lot of Banjo Kazooie Romhacks and they are such high quality and the same difficulty level as the base game. So venturing into SM64 hacks, I was just surprised by how a lot of them are made to be harder than the base game or even kaizo level hard. I just don't think SM64 is good for kaizo

I played Star Road, Mario 74 and last night SM64 Sapphire. All three of these end up being cruel and hard for the sake of hard but not for fun. It either turns into oops all death pits, obnoxious wall jumps, or extreme precision platforming. None of these make a good level for Mario 64.

There are so many games I never beat when I was young yet for some reason my brain focuses on this game of all games. I think about it a lot. One day I'll do it.
