A very good read because it makes a valid point we need to learn. As I would say, there is no instinct for war, and we do not realize the psyche continues to evolve. With human efforts, we can evolve past the selfishness of "Me" ego to an era of peace.

Anthropologist Brian Ferguson pushes back hard against the claim that war is innate and hence inevitable. johnhorgan.org/cross-check/...

Should those of us alarmed by what's happening run, resist or hunker down and pretend everything's gonna be okay? My thoughts. johnhorgan.org/cross-check/...

When I interviewed Noam Chomsky in 2018, he called Trump and his Republican enablers "criminally insane." That label strikes me as even more apt today. johnhorgan.org/cross-check/...

Was physicist Steven Weinberg too brutally honest for the good of his own field? You can decide after reading this profile of Weinberg, which is based on my 1995 interview with him. johnhorgan.org/cross-check/...

Thanks.

Yeah, I like that one too.

I admit to not understanding the first thing about physics, other than if I spill coffee it messes up the rug, but John has a brilliant way to write about complex science that helps me to understand more than a wasted cup of coffee:

In 1991, Edward Witten told me that string theory is too beautiful to be wrong. Here is my profile of the man said to be one of the greatest physicists ever. johnhorgan.org/cross-check/...

Asked in 2012 about my book "The End of War," Jimmy Carter said ending war is a "possibility," but he warned that the US is the world's biggest "warmonger." johnhorgan.org/cross-check/...
