I still don’t just *know* what six figures is. I have to do it on my fingers every time and work out whether I ought to be impressed or not.

Wow, that sonnet is actually not bad at all

Nice article but he ducks the hard questions. Yes, plastic can be used in a way that is not net-negative, but mostly it isn't. Same with AI, probably. And AI has the potential to be more insidiously harmful because it will cause ppl to lose the creative/problem solving muscles you develop w/o AI.

I'm interested - but the practical info on the website is out of date. Would be great to see updated details on the logistical side, since I'd need to know it was practically feasible for me before I commit :)

Ah yes, I see what you mean. I just set up a PKM column in deck.blue and muted the pokemon tag. Seems to work.

In my case, what has been squeezed out is "getting ready for Christmas".
e.g. buying presents, buying food.

I think I need to start calling myself a tech bro.
My kids described me as a twitter bro for a while, that was cool.

Me too, feel like I’ve completely messed up Christmas this year

Also new kid on the block sublime.app can do that

This is the real untapped potential of consumer grade AI, I think.

The only way I ever achieve self-imposed goals is if I forget I had them.
Otherwise I'm like, who are you to tell me what I should be doing.

The "Wait" steps in Relay make this super easy to do (I think in Make it would need a separate automation).
I have it set up to collect stats in 1 hour / 1 day / 1 week after posting.

I downloaded it a couple of weeks ago after reading a tweet that said the 2 most dangerous obstacles to progress are ayahuasca and factorio.

Yes, I tried that first but couldn’t work out how to make it just trim at x number of characters?
I am a spray and pray kind of pseudo tech person.

Hmm. That's kind of what I thought.
"Avoid relations, rollups, formulas where possible" - not keen on this tbh

I imagine, the same kinds of issues that cause people to ask you "Is it normally this slow / buggy?" 😅
Pages taking a while to load, views taking a while to populate, etc.

What would you say are the main ways to stop things slowing down, particularly for teams using big project management setups?

Deck.blue is great, brings back warm and fuzzy memories of when Twitter used to be fun.

Generally yes, although I found myself getting tetchy with NotebookLM today because it wasn’t following instructions and was trying to make out it was MY fault???!! Currently we’re not speaking.

This is a great use case for AI - it is surprisingly good at vibe detection, and often that's what you need.

Resisting the temptation to go in and update all my automations RIGHT NOW. 😅
But seriously, this is a huge QOL update.

Oof that’s a biggie. How many other unconsidered assumptions do we parse as *strong beliefs* simply because we live inside them? Answer: probably all of them. Religion, politics, diet, marriage, education, traffic management etc.

It will also be seen very clearly in startups where they just won’t bother hiring for certain roles, which then cease to exist.

Same here, I need to find some more interesting accounts to follow.
But a HUGE plus for me is deck.blue, which takes me back to the good old days of tweetdeck. I can see all my lists clearly (and the bluesky lists/feeds are a great feature)

But the only way you get paid more for an AI-promotion is by doing more.
In the words of @danshipper.bsky.social the focus shifts from creation to allocation. and much as I enjoy tinkering with AI, I'm not sure that's a plus for job satisfaction in the long term.

In many of the more creative professions, it's always been the case that, the further you get promoted, the less time you spend doing the creative work you enjoy. Teachers become department managers, translators become editors.

I’m from the UK. I remember my dad explaining Democrats and Republicans to me saying the Dems were equivalent to our Conservatives and the Reps were basically the National Front.

In the very very early days of the internet I used to get fonts from Chank Diesel who managed to snag f*cker.com before such tomfoolery was banned. Happy days.

Tim Ferriss ep 777 with Derek sivers. I was listening to it this morning. Go to 1:04:30 and listen to Sivers talk about easy vs simple vs complex.
Or just listen to the whole thing, Sivers is always incredible value.

When I decided to spend some time here today I felt myself almost physically unclench. I block most of the toxic stuff on Twitter and I hadn’t realised how crappy it still felt by default. This is definitely a much nicer place to hang out.
