It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

Update: The White House is already backing down on this. Keep calling your reps. Keep pressuring them. Along with your reps, the white house phone number is (202) 456-1111. Use 5calls.org to get all your reps in one place along with a guide. www.nysun.com/article/whit...

I've been writing a series of essays for PBS on men whose style I admire. The latest is about James Baldwin, a man who knew how to sing through clothes. www.pbs.org/wnet/america...

NEW: Pregnancy became far more dangerous in Texas after the state banned abortion, according to ProPublica’s first-of-its-kind analysis, which found the sepsis rate for women hospitalized as they miscarried in the 2nd trimester shot up by more than 50%. https://propub.li/43487Tj

The Xavier Cugat record is the famous version, of course, but the original take on this iconic Ary Barroso anthem, by Francisco Alves, is definitely worth a spin. More lachrymose than triumphant, it's also oddly moving, almost stately. #dailysong www.youtube.com/watch?v=yOqu...

Keith Haring died of AIDS aged 31 on 16 Feb 1990. One of his last works, Unfinished Painting, was deliberately incomplete, reflecting the devastating, unquantifiable loss to the arts due to AIDS. #LGBTplusHistoryMonth

If you’ve ever taken the oath to uphold the Constitution, this is the time to live up to it.

Our children’s book, *Fearless Benjamin: The Quaker Dwarf who Fought Slavery*, co-written with Michelle Markel and illustrated by Sarah Bachman, is now available for pre-order @PMPress. Publication date is August 6, 2025, perhaps sooner. pmpress.org/index.php?l=...

If you wish to vote in New York City's mayoral Dem primary in JUNE (=the election that'll pretty much decide the next mayor), you must be registered as a Democrat *BY FRIDAY.* An insanely early deadline bound to leave people vote out. At least make sure you're not one of them if you're interested!

There's hope for all those old mixed tapes! ❤️

The ASL version of “Not Like Us” is magnificent.

Kendrick’s American flag motif at THIS MOMENT is subversive. Yes, yes, yes.

I don't want to be on ghastly x anymore but it's where a lot of my sales come from so this post is a brazen request for shares to spread the word about my work on a kinder platform that isn't run by a dangerous megalomaniac! www.etsy.com/uk/shop/Sara... #selfemployedartist #ukgifthour #shopindie
