The time for talking is over, Senator Murray. It’s time for action. Shut it down.

Big Time Wife Guy checking in… she’s a fucking baller, has always earned more than me and likely always will, and I’m her biggest booster. It’s okay to support your wife in her endeavors, fellas. It’s a partnership.

Mine’s all 100 year old growth fir (worth salvaging) and thankfully had never been painted before the slapped a single coat of latex on it, so it was easy enough to strip with a heat gun (hence the fire) and some elbow grease.

The folks who owned our 100yo home previously painted all of the woodwork with white latex paint, but didn’t do any prep, so it just peeled off in sheets. While stripping a door jamb my wife accidentally started a fire because someone decided to fill a lock mortise with a piece of Rainier Beer box.

There was a time when “Made in Japan” meant cheap and poor quality. That was generations ago now, and if you told people under the age of 35 I doubt they’d believe you. China has now moved past that in terms of quality as well, but it will take time for the stigma to wear off.
