I suck at baseball and I hated dating tho I got a great husband out of it. But poetry is cool, jobs are handy, and taxes are the worst but I pay them anyway. Now please excuse me while I go use the bathroom. Alone. (GTF out of here with this crap. Do we really have to talk about it?)

I actually have one of each 😆

I'm not sure whether to be encouraged or appalled to see most of my favorite books getting scathing Goodreads reviews. It's stiffened my resolve to NOT read those reviews when my book comes out. In any case, I'm sure the negative ones will be there, but I'll be in great company!

The office interns these days just seem to lack motivation…

Sigh.

This hits SO real.

I just used leftover beef and sweet peppers to make Italian Beef quesadillas and it was so good I neglected to take a photo and why isn't this a thing? Chicago food scene, let's get on this! ❤️

My first reaction is to laugh…my second is to ask to share research because my next mystery involves a body in the North Atlantic and I need to know when it went in there and what shape it’s in…

I should be working. I should be editing. But how can I focus on anything practical and sensible when this new little guy has joined our household and 24/7 snuggles are his desire?

Hobbit Girl Spring is here. 😌🌿

I'd read this book. 😀

I love it when a photo clearly has a whole story behind it, just waiting to be told…

“I insist on being shocked. I am never going to become immune. I think that’s a kind of failure to see so much of it that you die inside. I want to be surprised and shocked every time.” ― Toni Morrison

I just witnessed a murder

Bye. For now. ❤️

This thread gives me so much hope. ❤️

bumblebees are inspirational creatures. Everyone who sees them thinks they have no business flying, science agrees they have no business flying, and they fly everywhere anyway because they want to fly and don't give a damn what you think. Be a bumblebee

Holy CRAP, @gracedalyauthor.bsky.social, I just read the cover copy for your novel and it looks 🔥😬😳🔥 and I can’t wait till my pre-ordered copy shows up this October. I mean, DAMN.

The Scald-Crow, a horror comedy and my debut novel, has a cover and is available for pre-order! Releasing Oct. 14, 2025, The Scald-Crow explores medical trauma and invisible disability by asking "Can a sick woman ever be trusted?" Cover done by Luisa Dias, and crow illustration by Jaya Nicely.

Pinned post: My debut murder mystery MURDER WILL OUT will be published by Minotaur Books in 2026. (When not writing, my alter ego conducts choruses and teach music to college students.)

Regular reminder. Never occurred to me how much this sign on the Ocean City MD Boardwalk resonates with the life of a writer.

Kindest wishes this St. Patrick’s Day to the enthusiastic young man outside Shenanigans Irish Pub who noted I was not wearin’ the green tonight, and gave me a string of beads. Slainte! 😆☘️
