See you tomorrow, #TxLege

Sharing this opportunity for Texas educators interested in #RuralEd — the 4th Annual Rural School Leaders Conference is FREE and includes lunch! #RuralEdChat #EduSky txr20.escworks.net/catalog/sess...

It's near 80 degrees today and I've got a rose bush trying to bloom. The day before NYE. 🙄

For the Texas folks with their eyes on the upcoming #txlege — here’s a list of those with insight into Texas politics, policy, news, and culture. Let me know who I left out. bsky.app/profile/did:...

One reason Bluesky (still) works for news is that there’s no obvious, pervasive culture of misinformation. If someone you trust reshares something on, say, Syria, the odds that it’s a chud trying to troll people remains relatively low.

If we go to the trouble to create an accommodation for one student who has an IEP, why not just offer it to everyone? It's not harder to give the support to everyone. When baked into our lesson as #UDL, supports can have far-reaching benefits. #LeadInclusion #EduSky #InclusiveEd

If we can't do inclusion well for our staff, we can hardly do it for our students. Wise words from one of our founding GEC Circle Experts. award-winning teacher, PhD researcher and diagnosed “austistic ADHDer” @ka81.bsky.social More: www.thegec.education/blog/a-start... #EduSky #UKEd #UKteachers

This Thanksgiving I’m thankful for the fact checkers, editors, producers, writers, experts, managers, packers, customer support reps, designers, artists, agents, salespeople, executives, family members, researchers, and finance people who do things with me!

“Don’t give up on our neighbors. That’s the work of democracy.” A house divided cannot stand.

Thankful for my closest loved ones today! I’m also thankful and grateful to love the work I am privileged to do in schools and communities every day — but I always try to remember to keep the main thing the main thing. Thank you to my better half for being the amazing mother and partner she is!

"One doesn't discover new lands without consenting to lose sight of the shore for a very long time." - Andre Gide Learning is sometimes uncomfortable -- and it can be scary! In what ways have you pushed yourself to explore new ideas or practices this year? #EduSky

"Rural Americans already have far less access to higher education than their counterparts in cities and suburbs. Now the comparatively few universities that serve rural students are eliminating large numbers of programs and majors, blaming plummeting enrollment and financial crises." #RuralEdChat

Gratitude can shape the culture in your school. In this week of thanks, what are some of the ways gratitude is expressed in your school or community? How does your school or community cultivate gratitude? Share your stories! #RuralEdChat #EduSky

@npr.org discussed Grow Your Own (GYO) programs – which help produce #teacher candidates locally who ideally remain in the community - as an approach to address teacher shortages. Learn what @norc.org uncovered in its study of GYO strategies used in rural WI. #edusky www.norc.org/research/pro...

"Every student deserves a great teacher." That's the belief we've got to start with when thinking about strategic staffing and teacher preparation across the state and nation! If you don't start with this, what are you doing? #EduSky #USPREP

Looking for some 🍎 ideas! I am trying to grow our community engagement and outreach efforts this year and am emphasizing adding value (not just doing new things). What are some ways your school or student groups add valid to community events — not just being present to hand out school pamphlets?

Building and sustaining school and community partners — how is each partner adding value and how are you connecting your partners to each other? 🍎

We had our mandatory active shooter training today and I still just don't have the words to express... I don't know. How is this the reality of our schools today? 🍎

Hey #GoogleEDU, can you help me out? I have a Campus/Classroom Event Log (see the link) and all of the responses go to a central response sheet for campus admin. What’s the easiest way to get teachers access to just their responses? I’ve used individual IMPORTRANGEs but is there a better way? 🍎

We all know that building relationships *with* students is essential -- but, as educators, how are we building relationships *among* students? #EduSky

District Leadership Team within the Hearne ISD PLC this morning — early discussion around finding your “ikigai” and being intentional about your leadership and actions. Grateful to believe that I truly have found my ikigai in the work I do daily! #EduSky #atPLC

Started a new book tonight -- been on my reading list for a while and part of my effort to add some non-fiction to my reading. Gave me an unexpected chuckle about Thomas Jefferson in the early pages so I'm intrigued about the rest of the book.
