Asked Thibs what disappointed him most in the first half defensively with holding Celtics in check from behind the line: “We got in a hole early.” Said they missed shots and he liked what they created. “Gotta get back and play defense.”

FINAL: Celtics 118, Knicks 105.

KAT has arrived from the back is back on the bench

KAT limped to the bench after trying to dunk on Porzingis and he's not coming back in after the timeout. He's going to the back.

Bridges is checking back in for first time since early in 3Q

END OF 3Q: Celtics 89, Knicks 82. New York trailed by 21 at half. Tremendous fight from them. Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart were great in the third.

Knicks a bit more scrappy here later in the third. Deficit down to 13. Josh Hart has 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists after missing the last two games.

HALFTIME: Celtics 64, Knicks 43

This game isn't a 3-point issue (so far) like the previous ones: Celtics -- 6/17 Knicks -- 5/16

Shamet is playing his ass off

END OF 1Q: Celtics 38, Knicks 19. New York is a minus-67 against Boston in 9 quarters this season

Thibs calls first timeout Celtics 17, Knicks 8 New York playing rushed, Boston being able to guard one-on-one across the board is one of many differences between these two teams.

Game not starting great for Knicks. -- KAT too slow to recover out to Porzingis in pick-and-pop -- Knicks losing guys in scramble -- Celtics have already turned KAT into a driver -- Knicks aren't guarding one-on-one -- Knicks missing good looks

Assuming both Josh and OG are good to go, this will be the healthiest matchup between the Knicks-Celtics this season. Porzingis hasn't played against New York yet but will tonight.

Josh Hart said he was out first two games to help with communication between MSG Network and Optimum. 😂

Thibs said Josh Hart and OG Anunoby will warm up and be a game-time decision.

Josh Hart and OG Anunoby are questionable for tomorrow’s game against Boston. Mitchell Robinson remains out.

MSG and Optimum have agreed to a deal

On Michigan State, index cards, and a rivalry win that revealed some old truths. www.nytimes.com/athletic/615...

FINAL: Cavs 142, Knicks 106. New York's worst loss in their 0-6 efforts against Boston, Cleveland and OKC, and there have been a few blowouts in there. Next up: Boston in Boston on Sunday.

The offense is the least of the Knicks' worries but something to note: New York hasn't shot 30-plus 3s and converted on at least 36 percent since Jan. 29 against Denver. Since Jan. 1, the Knicks are 22nd in 3-point percentage WHILE ranking 29th in attempts.

Both teams waiving the white flag to start the fourth. Knicks down 36, a season-high deficit.

END OF 3Q: Cavs 110, Knicks 77. New York's largest deficit this season is 35, which happened against Boston in two separate games.

Going under on a screen when Hunter is shooting 39 percent from 3 isn't ideal.

Haven't seen a player pull up for a mid-range jumper in transition in a long time but Bridges did it and made it. Cavs call a timeout with a 26-point lead.

OG came down grabbing his right foot after that Mitchell strip. He's up now but slow to get back twice now. he missed six games with a foot injury.

Everything is an issue defensively for the Knicks against the premier teams. the best defenders get caught sleeping, the pick-and-roll coverage/drop is targeted nonstop and the scramble defense just always feels a step slow.

Halftime: Cavaliers 77, Knicks 50.

Brunson just picked dup his third foul with 4:23 left before halftime. He's been the offense tonight.

Cavs lead the Knicks by 19. They can't miss.

END OF 1Q: Cavs 41, Knicks 29. Jalen Brunson was incredible with 16 points. Still, though, the early takeaway is that one team scores far more easily than the other.

Tremendous pass from Brunson to Hukporti, who follows the dunk with a block. It's a Blockporti

Knicks drop? Cavs guards hit 3s. Knicks bigs come up a little, guards stay somewhat attached? Cavs get to the paint with an advantage.

Knicks need MB to be better around the rim when there's any type of defender around him. Has really struggled with finishing when it's not a cut or wide open in transition.

Looked like it was going to be a great start for the Knicks, and then it wasn't. Thibs calls the first timeout with Cavs up 10-7. Cavs getting dribble penetration and movement from bigs. Knicks not getting much from anyone other than Brunson.

Knicks going with Precious in starting lineup with OG returning.

Curious to see if Thibs goes with Precious or Deuce with OG back, Hart out against Cleveland.

Josh Hart and Mitch Robinson are OUT. OG Anunoby is questionable.

Thibs said medical makes the decisions, along with player input, on if a guy can play. Asked if Anunoby will travel to Cleveland, he said “I believe so.”

Great defense from Knicks, Precious Achiuwa on final play, and terrible execution from Chicago. Knicks, down two starters, hold off Chicago in overtime. New York plays Cleveland tomorrow. Deuce McBride was player of the game: 23 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocks

Bulls ball, down two with 8.3 seconds left

KAT with back-to-back mid-range jumpers in OT, latest after White just dropped a pass out of bounds. Knicks up 7 with 1:55 left.

Wow. Maybe the defensive play of the season by Mikal Bridges. Great design by Bulls to get Vucevic under the basket. Bridges stuffed his shot.

Lonzo missed a WIDE open 3. Vucevic got the offensive rebound. Chicago ball with 2 seconds left. The last game at MSG before the break went to OT.

104-104 with 22.7 seconds left. Bulls ball.

Another 3 for Josh Giddey.
