Didn't even have a chance to get it loaded to my website. Carstairs Redux 34x42" Oil on canvas 2025 SOLD 🔴 😀

"Copyright is evil and should be abolished!" AYE can we stop with this take. Yes, corporations have abused the F out of copyright protections, but artists still rely on whatever protections copyright offers. It's the only reason a big corporation can't just steal literally everything we make.

Hey guys. Im sorry to do this but I cant currently afford medical expenses & treatment. I've been unable to properly work & im struggling just to get by. My neurologist has recently set up a treatment plan & I can't afford injection supplies, copays, or transportation. Thank you gofund.me/18405ce8

Gonna be at ALA this weekend! My first time, I'm excited~ I will be the one looking slightly lost while singing Huntrix or Saja Boys songs to myself. More importantly, ARCs of Nubia will be at ALA this weekend!

I say this from the bottom of my heart: BLOCK the ASSHOLES. And move on. Don't share them. Don't dunk on them. Banish them to the corn field and then go have a snack. We don't have time to backslide.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but productivity is a terrible metric for personal value. It’s a capitalist lie. Be a socialist. Do what you can when you can, accept help when you need it, and don’t feel guilty about it for a second. Give yourself grace.

Congratulations to the 13 brave women who risked their careers and reputations to stand up to Cuomo’s sexual predation

The number of times I went into the kitchen to make tea and wandered out with something else today was ridiculous. This mug manufacturer knew the assignment. The text is engraved so all of us with tactile quirks can pet our mug over and over and over... #ADHD #SensoryProcessingDisorder #Fibro

The reactionary-centrists that backed Cuomo & demagogued Mamdani—unwittingly, they created a referendum on their own power & preeminence. Now they have their answer. I'm talking about individuals & institutions here. Put them all out to pasture.

Also, call now, not July 2. It takes time to get a pet prescription processed.

If Pro-Life doesn't include care to preserve said life after the squirming screamy thing emerges, it's just anti-bodily autonomy.

My newest creation is Sherry the Scary Starey Strawberry. I designed and hand-sewed her, and I hand-embroidered all the little seeds. Sherry has the ability to perceive alternate realities, but she finds most realities boring so she rarely checks up on them. jeremycreature.etsy.com

Reading the article, looks like they're still going to try to make the language work juuust right in order to fit a land sell off proposal into the budget bill, but it is deeply unpopular on both sides of the aisle. Call your reps, this isn't over, but they're hearing about it loudly. Keep calling.

Just a reminder that Ironheart comes out tonight. they’re dropping 3 episodes at 9pm. This show didn’t get the best marketing and is currently being review bombed by loser incels that get overly emotional when characters don’t look like them on screen. Produced by Ryan Coogler. Go check it out.

You might not know, but I have agoraphobia. I ended up doing articles and interviews on TV and YouTube at the beginning of the pandemic about agoraphobia and OCD. Anyway, I have a few "own voices" stories and one is free right now, Romancing Riverbend's Rapunzel. #Ad www.amazon.com/Romancing-Ri...

my dudes there's no such thing as "too late" to regulate AI, that's a fake idea. AI models aren't untouchable data gods, they're algorithms hosted in cloud storage. Saying we can't regulate AI is like saying we can't deplatform Child P*rn bc "it's already out there". Like, 1s and 0s can be deleted

Demand an affidavit ballot and submit it. Your vote will count.

Writers: try to find metaphors that are evocative of a larger thing without being too on-the-nose Real Life: not bothered by the "on-the-nose thing"

I don't know, man. I just have this wild idea that my work has value and I should be paid accordingly.

Be gentle with those who are gentle with you. Who ask for softness while offering their throat. Who hold no pretense, but kindness. Who wear sweetness like starlight, but intimately know the dark.

it's time TO BOTHER THE CAT #makeaterriblecomicday

"it is honestly shocking how rarely the single most important fact has been stated: at some point, senior figures in Unbound’s management structure decided they had the authority to take money raised by authors [ ] and money owed to authors [ ] and spend it". Yes. Absolute press fail.

So there's two things happening here that are being confused: 1. Review bombing - everyone knows what that means 2. Reviewers using the site the way they want to but makes absolutely no sense to many authors - this is the one I'm going to talk about. Mini thread.

Writing a book or movie is not a herculean undertaking. It's chipping away just a little bit at a time. 500 words here, 1000 words there, 300 after that. It's moving bit by bit scene by scene. You can prep almost every word in advance or just sit down and start typing. It's just putting in the time.

For reference, one page of a book or script comes to about five full skeets. That's the kind of time and effort we're talking about here. If you're someone who posts several times a day but thinks you don't have time to write, I'm here to tell you that you do.

HEY FOLKS! As some of you know, @skyladawn.ca fridge + freezer died and she lost all of her groceries. She just got a new fridge, so I'd like to issue a challenge. I'll match all donations to replacing her groceries up to $200. Here's her donation page: ko-fi.com/skyladawncam...

I don’t know how long this sale will last, so grab them while they’re cheap. :)

Can WInnipeg try this please before we add a single lane for motorists anywhere. Just try free transit for three years, and see what happens. It'll still be cheaper than any extension of Chief Peguis Trail, and move more people

without downloading any new pics, describe your gender (also happens to describe my WIP 💀)

Hey, if you're an artist who uses Stripe, they're about to force an AI feature on you whether you want it or not. It charges 30% of any payment dispute that you win. You can disable auto-submission, but it looks like the AI still automatically runs on your behalf with no way to entirely opt out?

Artists and small business owners who use Stripe- there's a new "AI" feature for payment disputes, it's auto-enabled and will charge a 30% fee if you win a dispute using it. You might want to turn this off. I personally don't trust a slop feature to handle disputes for me either.

add yours!

God i love weasels. They're either the animal kingdom's most adorable murderers, or most murdery adorables.

The challenge isn't writing three whole novels, it's figuring out a thousand different ways to encourage people to buy them

It's the last day of the @litagentsofchange.bsky.social auction, which helps us recruit and retain agents from marginalized backgrounds! I'm going to highlight a couple of items that have me all eyeballs-emoji in thread.
