Some wind-pollinated trees cause allergies, some do not. Pollen grain size is very important. We often see vast clouds of pine pollen, and your car may turn yellow, but pine pollen grains are huge. They may cause irritation, but not allergies. Compare tiny ash pollen with huge white pine pollen.
