most cursed bug I’ve ever found was a c int width oddity. Deeply embedded arm codebase, zero observability. Last dev had defined his own fixed width ints (u32,u16) using “unsigned int”, “unsigned short”, etc. I had switched those over to stdint.h, which defines uint32_t as ‘unsigned long’ (cont)
