Ugh. Terrible timing. I am in N Dallas, we have the generator ready to go. The whole state has PTSD rn…

Eek! Congrats! It’s so fulfilling, it’ll tear your heart up and simultaneously heal it and I cannot explain, but it’s a ride! Thank you for saving a life.

I love this! I like to follow like minded people. I read much more than I post. I do like to post pics of my foster dogs and share the Texas marches and calls for change in Austin. I’ll be there in Feb representing PTSA.

Dumping dogs is an ugly issue in many southern states, it’s horrible. I am so glad your sister adopted a puppy instead of purchasing one!

I LOVE it when people get the reference! He was dumped at a popular dog dump area in E Texas. Somewhere along in his journey he got beat up by other dogs, so he hopped over barbed wire fencing and ran into a shed with a donkey. His story sounded like a LeeRoy Jenkins type of story!

Thank you! I have “foster failed” a few of my dogs. I have been fostering since 2011, some are more difficult than others. I have a feeling this girl will be with us for a while, it’s going to take some time for her to decompress and learn to trust a-hole humans again. It’s obvious that she was beat

Always, 😂 bless him. He was dumped in E Texas and was beat up by a pack of dogs. He was emaciated and just a mess. He knows how good he has is now🩵

I did have an account message me to let me know that I’d accidentally followed an imposter account. I appreciated the heads up, I think that’s why I keep them open. I just block the bots or weird stuff.

The DMs have gotten out of hand on here, I might need to turn my DMs off, too. Lots of bots or weirdos.

I have concerns about STEM grants and studies in State Universities in Red States. It’s going to be a rough 4 years.

I am fortunate to live in Dallas, which is quite blue. My MD’s are mostly at UTSW and are familiar with Ehlers-Danlos (thankfully) but I do wonder about my other doctors. I’m not afraid to ask questions. I understand they specialize in this stuff, but I’ve lived in this body for 46 years. I know it!

That’s a great way to think about it! Bracing helps, too. Zebra splints for your fingers are great, too.

Yes!!! ROM is everything for us! I benefited a lot from OT after my Dx. I hate FB, but there are some excellent #EDS groups there. Those groups led me to my Dx eventually (after 4 failed hip surgeries and countless injections all over my hips and back)

You need a PT who specializes in hypermobility and EDS. PT can make things MUCH worse for EDS’ers. The book ‘Too flexible to feel good’ is an excellent book of PT exercises for EDS and hypermobile folks. Good luck! I hope you find a good PT.

It’s the life of a zebra, as you know. I am fortunate to live in a large city, Dallas/Ft Worth. All of my specialists are at UTSW are familiar with EDS and the comorbidities that accompany it. The years of medical gaslighting gave me a superpower of sorts, I see thru MD’s BS immediately!

Fortunately I put this MD through the #EDS interview a few years ago, I really like him. I suspected he was left leaning, and my suspicions were correct when we briefly spoke about the election. I was medically gaslit too often before my Dx to let a doctor make me feel uncomfortable.

It is quite affordable and you can’t beat the climate. We are doing a day trip to Andorra and the Thermes d'Ax in the Pyrenees in France. The region looks beautiful in early spring. Some pics remind me of Colorado but with old French villas around.

Funny, the in-laws in Malaga right now are both teachers here in Texas. This was always the plan, but they sold their house and sped the process up by a few years. They are finished. Spain seems like a popular spot for expats. I’m visiting Barcelona in June, just as a tourist though.

The early morning panic attacks are real. I’ve tried holding an ice cube, the cold sensation can help trick the brain out of panic.
