So someone asked me to retell the story of the old lady that told me about killing her husband. Are we ready for a trip back in time to 1999? Some of you already know this story, but if you don't it is a wild ride. Apply all appropriate trigger warnings!

*taps mic* we're launching a podcast! Here's a round-up of our highlights for the months ahead: from a blockbuster garden exhibition, to free talks and tours (online and in-person), and the pilot of our very own podcast, Absolute Units. merl.reading.ac.uk/blog/2025/02...

Leaving this here without comment. It could also have been a big old sack with a label saying 'RATS'.

Joining in on the fun and making a starter pack for fashion and textile history. It's pretty small right now, but I'm hoping the community will grow! If you're an academic in the field, a living historian, someone who blogs about the subject - comment to be added! go.bsky.app/NX5duX8

Hello everyone! This is my first post on here after abandoning X at long last. I'm looking forward to finding a new creative community on here :) I'm sharing my favourite aerial embroidery landscape I've ever done for my first post here - 'A peaceful place (somewhere out there)' 💚

This here is one of the great U-boat hunters of the Second World War. Grab a comfy seat and a glass of something pleasing. We're going on a journey...

At last, there's a searchable directory of Bluesky starter packs, courtesy of @mubashariqbal.com! Just one more way third-party developers are helping to make this place better. Search starter packs by keyword, and sort by "Uses" to see which ones people are finding the most helpful

A #Leicestershire villages thread. 1. Ab Kettleby. A Roman mosaic and pavement were found beneath the churchyard of St James’s, indicating the presence of a villa. The Everard Digby memorialised in the church died in 1628 so is not (contra Wikipedia) the Gunpowder plotter.
