Naturally, I took his. It has enabled me to live a decent life and I feel that it’s money owed to me. He would be drawing it out if he were alive. But he always provided for his family, and I think I deserve to get what he paid into SS. 2/3

I am scared to death about changes to Social Security. I draw on my late husband’s earnings. It’s my only source of income. He worked his ass off for 40 years, paying into SS. He died at age 63. When I turned 65, SSA gave me the choice of drawing from his ($2700/month) or mine ($250/month). 1/3
