On beauty, zadie smith. In my view by far her best novel but most underrated. Especially good if you like campus novels (who doesn’t).

Feels slightly unfair on her given this was a letter to constituents - cabinet minister or not she’s entitled to (and arguably obliged to) respond to constituents and explain her vote intention. Very different from saying it e.g on a broadcast round. Saying this as someone who disagrees with her!

Hard agree - Martin being back will make such a difference. City are severely missing Rodri, and as for Liverpool, I remember 2 years ago when we were 11 points clear - those leads can disintegrate quickly, it’s early days yet

And we can take heart from the fact that Chelsea in the best form they’ve been in for the last 2/3 years, with a fully fit squad, only managed a draw at home to us when we’re clearly off the pace we’ve been setting the last couple of seasons.

beyond how they're just strewn across the pavement, I feel like they encourage the worst type of cyclists to use the road (as a regular road cyclist, I've had far more near misses with people on lime bikes - some of whom are definitely drunk - who seemingly don't know how to steer than with cars)

hard agree - I’ve moved from one soft left following bubble to another, the difference is that on twitter the soft left posting was increasingly interspersed with blue tick accounts I have no interest in and an owner who actively stoked violence in the UK
