A typical day might start with Szell conducting Beethoven, followed by Lee Morgan, then Wilco and close with Sinatra.

Tamsin,
I have been off social media for the most part for a few weeks. But I want you to know I took your advice and watched them both -- oddly in reverse order...lol.

Among the many things I worry about, I am deeply concerned about the ending of birthright citizenship. If that ends I believe something deep and fundamental about America will be gone.

Look I am never going to criticize Guinness. But Oldman is fantastic. Did you catch the little scene of the fly in the car!? It perfectly encapsulates Smiley.

You and me! The series was perfect. But the movie did some interesting things I really liked. We are the rare birds who like both. But the series if I have to choose.

But the TV series was as close to perfection as humans are allowed.

Trump's goal is the final humiliation of the remaining Republicans not in total submission. And, trust me, it is not "kneel down". The goal is much more degrading.

Leftist media takes politically active young people and turns them off elections; right wing media takes apolitical young men and tells them how to vote

Fascinating suggestion that sounds right to me. Now the social scientist in me wants to know if this is true and if true how widespread?

On Israel and on deportations we very well could see swift actions that might upset his standing. Also, who knows what happens in Ukraine or elsewhere. I think a negative outlook is the most probably in those areas and it could happen right away.

Trump might screw it up or things out of his control might go wrong. But either will take time. So, on the economic front I suspect Trump will benefit from the state of the economy -- at least for some time.
