And I mentioned I’m a Yellow Dog Democrat. And, just in case anyone wants to know what that means, it means I would vote for a yellow dog before I would vote for a MAGA. Originally it was Republican but there are still a few good ones left. I think.

I realized it’s been a month since I posted. We’ve been packing, unpacking, driving, blah blah blah. So I updated my profile to include Eugene and not Texas.

Hurray for us old hippies!

I’m following you because you marched in Eugene. I just moved here - literally drove in yesterday afternoon, the fourth day of driving to get away from Texas.

Written in 1995, 30 years ago. And here we are in 2025. Oh Momma. You were so right. They continue to hurt us all…

Oh, Mama, you were so mistaken… They harmed us all. They are not gone. They harm us still.”

“Seventy-five years have passed. Look at the headlines. Look at the charred ruins of churches. See the graffiti, letters twisted like the minds that scrawled them there upon the walls. Smell the charred wood of crosses burned in front yards.

“They’re gone now.” We walk back to the car, my father lifts me into the front seat, and we drive home to our safe bungalow.

It’s a one-page powerful essay. Here’s the end… “A small child’s cry breaks the hush. “Shhhh,” my mother says, as I moan into her skirt and hide my eyes. “They’ll never harm you.” “She takes my little hand, and Daddy smoothes my straight blond bangs from my eyes.

Hello fellow weaver.

Subscribe to Jane Stafford’s online school. It’s a bargain and you will learn a whole lot! You don’t have to buy her kits - and if you are close to a guild, join it. But you still need a loom!

It doesn’t have to be a local guild…the Houston one is incredible and they zoom every meeting. Tomorrow morning’s speaker is Theo Rooden.

Thank you! Love it here and love ETC!! Have you joined the local guild yet?

I’m here with my number one bucket list desire - to stand on a round thing in the ground and slowly rise. That’s pure bollard!
