My 2 cents of how today will likely go: No Kings rally will go unaffected by police. It’s permitted. Small groups will break off and make the small trek to the Federal Metro Detention Center and face off with and yell at federal police. It could get dicey there. (1/x)

I will not be out today, I gotta work my other job! If you enjoy my reporting and find it valuable, please become a paying subscriber to my newsletter. I’ll be regularly on the ground and doing following-up stories as the weeks go on. Help me quit my other job! www.joeyscott.xyz#/portal/supp...

Los Angeles has been engaged in community defense for over a week, but protesters are "violent" according to Useful Idiots for ICE open.substack.com/pub/mst3kati...

LAPD is illegally sharing license plate data with ICE and Border Patrol. Under California law, police agencies are barred from sharing license plate reader data with out-of-state public agencies or federal entities.

@katecagle.bsky.social has looked/is looking into this and hasn’t been able to confirm this happened.

The LAPD and LASD have been visibly hurting and violating people’s rights. But people can at least find and file complaints against them. The federal police are, as far as I can tell, impossible to hold accountable in a formal manner. And that scares me.

This is base level image theory. People don’t experience images from a place of neutrality, they arrive with their own biases.

btw, posts like "time to get our 2nd amendment on" may be protected speech, but there's also a chance it'll get you cited in a bulletin focused on threats to cops quietly circulated to 7000 police agencies. Just food for thought. www.wired.com/story/no-kin...

Press won’t show? I literarily have a photo of it!

BREAKING: Reuters has published video images of Marines carrying out the first known detention of civilian in Los Angeles

At next week's Board of Police Commissioners meeting, the board is voting on whether to accept a donation from the LA Police Foundation for a new horse. Metro's Mounted Division has trampled and severely injured demonstrators at the anti-ICE protests in downtown LA.

#FOIAFriday The San Diego Police Department released their public recruiting flyers to me, but redacted all the officers' faces, citing exemptions for personal identifying information and peace officer personnel records. The lengths police will go to hide who they are from the public!

Los Angeles immigration raids protests began a week ago on June 6. The @pressfreedomtracker.us is investigating: - 32 assaults on journalists - 6 detainments/arrests of journalists - 4 equipment damages - 2 equipment searches/seizures View our database: pressfreedomtracker.us/all-incident...

The feds are going after LA groups helping immigrants and protesters. As government officials investigate political groups and non-profits, critical media coverage also targets the organizations. One man faces federal conspiracy charges for handing out face shields at recent LA demonstrations.

Regarding recent immigration actions and the Club World Cup.

In April, President Trump and Salvadoran President Bukele shook hands in the Oval Office to celebrate a deal to ship gang members to the notorious CECOT prison. But a new ProPublica investigation found there’s more to the story. 🧵👇

Fantastic scoop by @wbez.org's Mariah Woelfel: At a recent consent-decree hearing, CPD Supt. Snelling said the 30-minute ”snap” curfew ordinance City Council is now considering is ”not something that I asked for or that I need.” chicago.suntimes.com/politics/202...

Tonight our photojournalist for The Jersey Vindicator, Andres Kudacki, was pepper sprayed by ICE while documenting the riot and protests at the Delaney Hall ICE facility in Newark.

Another terrific scoop from @marisakabas.bsky.social www.thehandbasket.co/p/ice-warran...

I jinxed it. We are back at the emergency vet.

That’s right.

The US Attorney is charging Alejandro Theodoro Orellana with conspiracy to commit civil disorder for handing out face mask at protest. The FBI did an early morning arrest at his home using flash bang grenades. www.independent.co.uk/news/world/a...

Missing "Freedom Fest" in Palm Springs right now, which boasts a speakers lineup of over 200(!) that sounds larger than its potential turnout. Also funny they stole the local Freedom Fest's name.

My boy Lemmy has been in and out of the vet for a month now. After yesterday’s visit we have a better idea (goodish news) of what’s going on, but more vet trips on the way.

Nobody is actively hurting ICE agents. They’ve been freely snatching people off the streets without danger. They’re not victims.

From an Oregon State Police email recruiting members for its SWAT unit: “Are you jonesing to fire 40mm less lethal rounds and gas munitions through windows, gables, cameras, and at fleeing suspects?” "Anyone want to shoot some pepperball into vehicles...?" @maxbernstein.bsky.social @oregonian.com

“We don’t want this on our property," the pastor told the agents. One shouted, "‘the whole country is our property,’” Lopez said. “When someone tells that to you, with a weapon in their hands, that was a very clear message." You live in a police state. spectrumnews1.com/ca/southern-...

Anti-ICE protests. Downtown LA. 6/8 - 6/9/2025

“ICE” as snatching people from churches now. Never forget they said this👇🏾 MAN AT CHURCH: “We don’t want this in our property.” ICE: “The whole country is our property.” No IDs shown, non-government out of state plates, basic tactical vests that just say police. Who are these men?

Sen. Alex Padilla getting pushed out by law enforcement on a live feed after he tries to question Kristi Noem at her presser on a live feed in Los Angeles “I’m Senator Alex Padilla. I have questions for the secretary. Because the fact of the matter is, a half dozen... Hands off!”

It is imperative to recognize and call out this regime's bigoted identity politics. Their treatment of nonwhite electeds amounts to Taneyism. To them, these officials hold no authority they are bound to respect. Padilla, McIver, Baraka are merely the latest. They are doing this to POC on purpose.
