I have the Jodie set (but haven't opened it). What was wrong with that? (You're my new source of knowledge here.)

It even sort of makes sense that Thelma Todd would be cheating on Cary Grant, as he's a bit of a "yes, dear" guy while Roland Young has more spine.

Not bad. Predictable ending, but the goofy sex-capades before kept my attention. Lily Damita is a bargain-basement Jean Harlow type with a French accent and not as much appeal.

Thelma Todd was found dead due to carbon monoxide poisoning at the age of 29 in her garage. It was ruled suicide but she owned a popular nightclub that gangsters were trying to take over, so murder has always been rumored.

Interesting: The opening night scene is tinted blue; rest of film is black & white.
It's also a musical number made up of sound effects -- car horns, heels tapping, glasses clinking -- to show the gaiety of Paris night life. Similar to the opening of Love Me Tonight with Maurice Chevalier.

Roland hires Lili Damita to pretend to be his wife to make Cary less suspicious of a trip to Venice Roland and Thelma were going to take while Cary was in the Olympics.
Pre-code: lots of Thelma's legs. The opening scene ends with her getting her dress ripped off by a car door.
Much infidelity.

Put in S1 Disc 2, pushed Play All, first episode (Space Babies) has no black bars.
Put in S1 Disc 1, pushed Play, did have black bars.
