And, as much as i do say at times, “we’ve seen this before in EE,” those regional histories shouldn’t be used to discredit all leftist movements in the US to urge us towards the center.
This can reiterate Cold War US logic. And marginalized communities deserve better. So do CEE peeps. We all do

This was yet another scoop by the amazing student journalists at UF’s Independent Alligator newspaper. Here is Grace McClung’s piece from April 2025 www.alligator.org/article/2025...

For the record I think the most likely outcome is Rubio is eventually ousted as Sec of State and this gets “fixed” by summer 2026 and largely forgotten until la 2028 is finished. But there will be intense lobbying to make that happen.

This book is also a personal history as I talk about my love for De La Soul and hip hop culture--the ways hip hop culture shaped my life growing up in Mansfield, OH, pursuing an education, and becoming a historian and professor.

In my unauthorized history, I analyze De La's impact on hip hop and Black culture from 1989 to the present. I also analyze DLS's performances of Black masculinity, their philosophy of creativity, and rappers, generally, as laborers within an industry that is as exploitative as it is generative.

This entire piece functions as a hit piece on Chase Strangio and the ACLU who have done more to protect trans people than just about anyone. They completely ignored the Arkansas case as a SCOTUS vehicle and instead just accepted absurd conspiracy theorizing by the Alabama.

Love that the framing of this article is "activists made a strategic error trying to keep healthcare for kids available" and not "there is a systemic coordination by one political party to strip transgender people both adults and minors of their dignity in america."
