I am really frustrated that the press is discussing the destruction of USAID as something that has happened rather than an illegal action that will likely be undone in two weeks when courts tell the world that it was illegal.

Over on the other site Elon Musk said that DOGE stopped $50M of condoms from being delivered to Gaza which Trump the repeated several times but it turns out that was the number for all contraceptive support from USAID everywhere on Earth, of which none went to Palestinians.

i think rage at congestion pricing is a good example of how no one believes that the world can be positive sum anymore. like, people pay a small fee to get access to a faster commute — saving them valuable time — and the money improves public transit, saving other people valuable time. it's win-win!

Spent the day very slowly and mindfully sewing patches made of an old shirt I've grown out of onto the extremely tattered lining of a 40 year old jacket I just got second hand. Forgot how nice it feels to repair things when everything feels disposable.

Why are supplements not regulated? many times those products pretend to do things like medicine with very little research to back up its claims
