Last of the Baby Boomers, I'm trying to leave the world a better place for my son. For all of our children. We are failing as stewards of this beautiful planet, and we need to correct that misdeed.

Yeah I'm inclined to agree. My parents were better off than me.

They're cut from the same cloth. I'm not sure which clown I can't stand more. Douggie was truthful when he considered himself and DJT as family, f*cking POS.

Not sure whose face and voice I hate more ...Captain Canada or TACO

I've lived in Canada since 1967, and quite frankly I've lost hope for this country. Every time we seem to make a little progress we shoot ourselves in the foot and fall backwards. I'm rapidly losing hope in the current parliament. First chance I have to send my son to a better country he's gone.

Thought for a second this was a movie poster for a new Scorsese film. Sheesh

I'm starting to think that a majority of Canadians are closet Americans, and just pretend they're shocked when conservatives win and invoke their regressive politics. A secret conservative fetish perhaps.

Wow ...as an NDP voter, I'm speechless!

Hello Tippi! Haha 😄 She's 95 years young!

Whoa ...$10,000 ? I thought the fine was only $1,000 This is *really* going to impact the pocketbooks of poor folk. I can see a lot of personal bankruptcies stemming from this.

I suggested it, and built it, and proved it, but it still did not save me or my career from being outsourced to a third party. Oh well, I missed the golden years of IT by about 30 years.

I think the secret to happiness is to never outgrow this kind of creativity.

I'm inclined to agree 100% I guess that's more than an inclination.

Cons' universal solution to problems, deregulation of industry. Wonderful.

Deport her to Canada. I have no problem with that.

Idiotic and irresponsible... key words right there

I'm over it. Carry on.

110% of my after tax income is already being invested in the economy, including the Chinese economy since my landlord lives in Hong Kong. Not sure how much longer this Canadian can invest more.

This novel is the first one that comes to mind for the restricted list. I don't think it's appropriate reading for any age.

Sadly, in my hometown this movie opened at drive in theaters only, and I was at least 10 years away from being old enough to drive. I actually had to wait a year or two before it came back to a regular indoor big screen to see it for the first time.

You and I may ultimately be on the same page but we may be seeing things from a different perspective. Personally, I've seen nothing positive come from cutting "unnecessary gov salaries" in the last 40 years. That's my experience.

Poliviere is the last person we need, he would be the first to start cutting gov jobs in favour of private sector profits. His rival here in Ontario Doug Ford is doing exactly that, and while services are suffering, his rich buddies are profiting while our costs are skyrocketing 1/2

Show me the impartial government study that deems someone's job unnecessary. Or the record where privatization proves more efficient use of tax dollars than direct government employment. Or is this opinion based on political campaign rhetoric? I've lived thru austerity government In Ontario, it's BS

Not to those people losing their livelihood

Apparently here in Ontario, only the GTA voters appear to have anything resembling common sense. My fellow blue collar lunch bucket electorate keep voting against their own best interests. Propaganda is a powerful tool.

4 more years of the same regressive governance. This is so demoralizing.

That is beautiful progress! Sadly, in Canada my provincial government (Ontario) is busy ripping out bike lanes from our most populated and congested metropolitan region, making it more difficult to create new ones anywhere in the province, and moving forward with billion dollar projects for cars.

Doug Ford is an asshat, but hey ...that's who we voted back into power. For the third time. Don't tell me that Canadian voters are any smarter than Americans.
comment in response to post
Where the f#ck is Doug Ford on this? Why isn't the government of Ontario saying or doing anything? Maybe he hasn't figured out how to make this profitable?

This needs to stop.

I'm still working at 60. Apparently I'm highly skilled with a good paying job, 40 years of experience, yet I'm one or two paycheques away from living on the street. Not sure how that adds up.

Wisteria, my favorite! Sadly, I've never had any luck getting them to bloom.

There is nothing cons do better than selling us out. Voters are so gullible ...I'm surprised we somehow managed to empower the LPC.

Not often brought up is the $379B US Treasury bonds held by Canada. That's a pretty big IOU. Plus we sell them oil and electricity at a discount compared to what Canadians pay. Not to mention that per capita we spend more on US goods than vice versa. Who is subsidizing whom now?
comment in response to post
Oh don't worry, if anyone has a modicum of clarity in this shitshow, Carney would be that person. He knows *exactly* who and what he is dealing with, and what needs to be done.

because it's all about him, win at any cost, screw the constituents and other elected MPs. Rules are for the other guys. Narcissist playbook chapter one.

I've been a "skilled trade " since 1982. This is true, I was earning about 20% more in the 90's than I am today ...just a few years from retirement. What a fucking joke.

I used to be a Preston Manning supporter last century, but most of the baggage he's squawking about is a direct result of the Harper gov failures, as well as divisive rhetoric from the current cons in parliament.
