Republicans for decades have said how terrible Russia/Soviet Union is. Now Trump is taking Russia's side in their war with Ukraine and Republicans say nothing. Republicans are weak and spineless.

If Europe, Canada, South and Central America, Australia, Japan, and South Korea (really any country) have any sense they will try to reduce trade (and really any interaction) with the US. The US under Trump can not be trusted or relied on.

Another picture from the 50501 protest in Boston. The little display at the tree was for Alexei Navalny with the quote 'don't give up hope '.

Propublica has a list of people that should never be hired by anyone: projects.propublica.org/elon-musk-do...

Remember when Republicans were so upset about 'cancel culture'? Now the Trump administration is trying to erase any mention of LGBTQ people (in the census, in government grants, in schools, ...) and Republicans are all for it.

It seems helping to stop sexual assault is DEI; I guess Republicans are fine with it. www.latimes.com/california/s...

I thought Trump was the one who wasn't going to get in wars. He is now talking about sending troops to Greenland, Panama, the Gaza Strip. Fuck Trump.

I'm embarrassed for my university. Northeastern University got rid of their DEI pages almost immediately while (at least) most other area universities still have theirs up (Harvard, MIT, BU, BC, Tufts, Brandeis).

Is there a way for states to route federal taxes paid by its residents through state departments? This is in case the federal government illegally stops payments to states (as is looking likely).

The way Trump thinks law enforcement should work is: it punishes people he doesn't like and protects those he does. The actual law is inconsequential unless it can be used for those ends.

Native Americans are being stopped and asked to show proof of citizenship by ICE. This is Trump's America: www.cnn.com/2025/01/27/u...

I'm confused, where are all the 2nd amendment absolutists? They claim that they are necessary defenders of the Constitution, but when Trump blatantly goes against the 14th amendment they're nowhere to be found.

I made myself forget what it was like during Trump's first term. He does and says so many horrible things, you don't know where to start. You start to say something about him trying to get rid of the 14th amendment and then he demands an apology from a bishop who says what Jesus would say.

In 2020, the Trump administration made a deal to release 5000 Taliban prisoners. Yesterday he pardoned 1500 supporters who attacked the US capitol. I guess Trump just likes releasing terrorists.

Just to show how incoherent Trump is he is going to declare a national energy emergency and stop licensing offshore wind energy leases.

On his inauguration, I would like to say: Fuck Trump.

As we all should have expected, Republicans attacks on groups keeps expanding. They have been after immigrants and trans people for years, now it seems they don't like the deaf (they're going after ASL?) and the disabled. They're all about hate.

So it's official, Republicans want to cut support for the poor middle class, so they can cut taxes for the rich and corporations. Specifically, they want to cut Medicaid, food stamps, TANF, subsidies for the ACA, and anything that helps fight climate change. Republican priorities.

It seems like a good time to remind everyone that Facebook facilitated the attempted genocide of Rohingya in Myanmar: www.pbs.org/newshour/wor...

Let's see, Indiana beat Michigan and Michigan beat Alabama, so Alabama deserved to be in the playoffs instead of Indiana. That's how it works if you're an SEC team, right?

My old year's resolution is to exercise each day for the rest of the year. How about you?

There should be no relations or trade with the Taliban at all.

That certainly would be appropriate.

RIP Jimmy Carter. He was a very good man, almost the opposite of the incoming President.
