BREAKING via WaPo: Mike Waltz and other members of Trump's National Security Council conducted government business over personal Gmail accounts, where they held conversations about highly sensitive information, including about military positions, powerful weapons systems, and more

Sen. Ossoff: "Director Ratcliffe, this was a huge mistake, correct?" Director Ratcliffe: "No."

We have overcome near-death experiences before. We shall overcome this one too. Not by denying we are in a constitutional crisis. We are. But we can and will prevail if we face the truth unflinchingly and never abandon the long twilight struggle against evil. open.substack.com/pub/roberthu...

One more--this is just so cool: Firefly Aerospace has released the full image sequence of a solar eclipse from the surface of the Moon. The dark object moving in front of the Sun is Earth. The lunar landscape is lit red by all the sunrises & sunsets in the world. 🧪 fireflyspace.com/news/blue-gh...

If the Supreme Court ultimately agrees with what the gov't is arguing today, that the President has broad Article II powers that would permit it to deport people & there can be no judicial review, then literally no one is safe.

Notice to flat-Earthers all around the globe: Please alert the authorities if tonight’s Total Lunar Eclipse looks like this:

Tanking a 10+ year gaining economy in only 6 weeks has to be a record for any President

Two market meltdowns. One common denominator.

Blue Ghost, the moon lander from Firefly Aerospace, landed on the moon last night. It took a selfie from the lander. And that's us, up in the sky ❤️

This is a bigger issue than people realize. Not just jobs lost. But their families losing benefits. Landlords losing tenants. Cities and towns losing revenue. This is how recessions start Ready Fire Aim is no way to govern.

If only Congress had the ability to do something about this…

Chilling assessment from @wired.com

Something going on at the FAA perhaps ? The TFR (Temporary Flight Restrictions) website is broken... tfr.faa.gov

This was just 233 days ago:

At the moment, mansion-sized Asteroid 2024-YR4 has a one-in-fifty chance of hitting Earth in the next eight years. Now might be a bad time to reduce spending on Science. Just sayin’.

USAID is a criminal organization,” Mr. Musk wrote on Sunday in a social media post that many aid workers saw as confirmation the agency would soon be absorbed into the State Department and that some viewed as a potential threat to their personal safety. “Time for it to die.” THIS HAS TO STOP.

So the world's richest man spends a fortune backing Trump and is given the go-ahead to... -Run an "efficiency" agency despite having billions in govt contracts -Replace civil servants with his own cronies -Gain access to sensitive Treasury payment systems See the problem?

Looks like Pete Hegseth told the press that the attack was carried about by carrier launched F-16s, F-15s and the A-10. None of those aircraft are carrier capable. It'd be nice if we had a SecDef who had actually paid attention in class.

A reminder: Tariffs are a regressive tax that drives up prices on everyday goods. They disproportionately hurt the working class and poor who bear the brunt of higher costs while wealthier consumers feel significantly less impact.

NEW: Sources tell my office that Treasury Secretary Bessent has granted DOGE *full* access to this system. Social Security and Medicare benefits, grants, payments to government contractors, including those that compete directly with Musk's own companies. All of it.

An executive order cannot supersede a statute. Congress has found ByteDance a danger to national security and SCOTUS has upheld it. Trump’s job as of noon tomorrow is to “take care that the laws be faithfully executed.” That means enforcing the ban until ByteDance sells TikTok.

An EO cannot amend the statute. TikTok didn’t comply with the condition precedent by either divesting its ownership or taking necessary and good faith steps to divest warranting a 90 day extension.

So it's dangerous for China to have the ability to access our data and manipulate us via social media apps. But it's okay for America's billionaires to have the ability to access our data and manipulate us via social media apps. Do I have this right?

Hey Seniors. Musk and Trump are going to reduce your pensions. You know ... the nest egg you worked for all your lives. Thank God Trump is going to bring down the price of eggs, which is why you voted for him. Right? That should be a fair balance. Right? ==========================

Re: government funding 170 Republicans voted yes. 34 voted no. 196 Democrats voted yes. Zero voted no. Once again, Democrats do the responsible thing and save the GOP from themselves. Thank you, Speaker Jeffries.

This is why you shouldn’t want Medicare Advantage

Recall what happened with the FBI when Nixon politicized it by appointing Patrick Gray director. The rank and file leaked, leaked and leaked up to the assistant director (aka Mark Felt/Deep Throat) level. They destroyed Nixon. Trump is inviting big trouble with Kash Patel.

Whatever a border czar is, they don't have arrest authority. Federal law enforcement officers do, pending judicial enforcement. Consultation with prosecutors is the norm for pre-planned arrests & here's the kicker: people being arrested must have actually committed a crime.

I’m thankful for everyone using Bluesky, everyone building on atproto, everyone listening to our message and sharing our dream of a better social media ecosystem that puts people first. We’re going to do this together — thanks for joining us on this journey!

The usual suspects are out there yelling "There are 23 million government workers! Fire most of them!" No awareness that most work for local governments, and most of *them* are schoolteachers. Federal employment hasn't grown since the 1950s
