It is amazing and astounding that it's taking exceptional efforts of an 83 year-old man to fight against authoritarianism in a country that has always touted itself as the bastion of freedom and opportunity. I was listening to Beck's "Loser" tonight. It made me think about the impact lyrics have on emerging minds, and how irresponsible too many artists are, thinking not of the impact of their art, but on their own existence, experience, and success. I like Beck, but Loser is one awful song.
