It is much quieter over here, partially because - as you said elsewhere - there isn't really PR news in 2025. But, also because "but muh followers!" I'd argue 90%+ of the "content creators" (ugh) in the fandom care more about clicks than anything else. And it's been that way since 2011ish. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I don't know how I managed to thread the needle over there where I managed to follow all the correct accounts to get the news but to miss out on the drama/inane banter 99% of the time.

Ah. That’ll do it.

Though, now I'm curious - your dad "fucking despises it"? I hate a lot of stuff, but I draw a blank trying to come up with something I'd say I despise that much. I want to hear more. 😅

When young, people might be ashamed to be Power Rangers fans. Once they grow older and wiser, they realize that it's perfectly fine to be a PR fan. Being identified as a member of the PR *fandom*? I'd be ashamed of *that*. I'm a PR fan. I haven't been a member of this fandom for maybe 15 years.

I wouldn't go that far. And I definitely am not encouraging people to buy stuff they don't want just to show their support. But, fuck, man? These are initial promo photos. If you're forming a strong negative opinion off these, and then flooding posts with trashy comments? You're an idiot/loser.

Similar - I'm trying to figure out why so many people need an explanation as to why a toy company would make Power Rangers toys *for children*.

I need another set of MMPR Rangers like I need a hole in the head, but if it means we get any of the hundred-ish never-released bad guys from the first three years, everyone will have to suffer while I celebrate.

I have a coworker who calls me Murdock, so…

Oh snap!

Nope. It’s presumably the next one (later this year).

Maybe PR can't hang with the bigger action figure brands, but I also don't think Hasbro ever cared to invest the time/effort/energy/money to give them a shot, outside of maybe that initial White Ranger/first two series #LightningCollection push. Oh well. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Will Hasbro do any of this? That's a joke question, right? Short of the Zedd/Rita two-pack, I don't recall off the top of my head *any* instance where there was a concrete, non-pulled-out-of-thin-air marketing explanation for a given release being at a given time.

An S.P.D. Orange Ranger (Boom) could also be done, with minimum new tooling. Pair him with a Kat Ranger, and we've got an easy two-pack with no doubling up. Throw Broodwing in here somehow and you've got a homerun.

They've got 6 other Rangers (Omega should be outside of the exclusive window by now) which could easily be paired with Krybots, Blueheads, and Orangeheads easily - these seem like relatively simple foot soldiers that I'm stunned never got done (really? 5x A-Squad and PUTRIDS over those?)

The obvious starting point is Shadow vs. Gruumm. Maybe throw in a R.I.C. to justify a more than 2x single action figure price to cover the new tooling.

Sonic’s the blue one. 😁👍🏼

Ditto. Shocker as well.

My answer? In a world where the #LightningCollection has a self-proclaimed PRiS fan as a design director and released all 6 PRiS Rangers, 2 versions of Astronema, 2 versions of Ecliptor, 7 Psycho Rangers, a transforming Astro Megazord... and a PRWF PUTRID. No Quantrons??? 🤯
